Just want to run it past a few strangers Smile

Do you know what? I absolutely fucking love it OP and I'm usually of the Katie Hopkins school of thought for baby names. Big thumbs up from me and personally I'd love to answer the phone with a "heavenly jones, yes, I was just reading your brief...". Smile

FeckOfffCup · 27/04/2016 07:20

It's a bit OTT in my opinion, sorry OP. Joy is nice though.

pollyblack · 27/04/2016 07:22

Claudia pronounced cloudier?? Hmm

I can't imagine calling anyone Heavenly. It's more of a word to describe not name

cosmicglittergirl · 27/04/2016 07:43

No. Unless you like the ultra religious, Deep South vibe.

Whattodiddlydo · 27/04/2016 07:44

Don't like Heavenly, sorry OP!

RitaCrudgington · 27/04/2016 07:45

I like names like this, it always cheers me up when I bump into a middle aged Ghanaian lady called Precious or whatever. I'd do a bit or a double take if I met a WASP child called Heavenly though - not bad, just unexpected.

BisherBasherBosher · 27/04/2016 07:45

You're joking right? Hmm

AuntieStella · 27/04/2016 07:47

Heavenly Joy sounds like something from a hymn to me.

If you want an obviously Christian name, what about Evangeline?

PurpleDaisies · 27/04/2016 07:48

Heavenly is not a name I would choose. Heavenly Joy sounds like a paint shade name. Heaven Joy at least sounds like a person. Not to my taste at all.

Can you imagine your daughter introducing herself "hello, I'm Heavenly?" Confused

IlikePercyPig · 27/04/2016 07:54

I like Joy but not Heavenly, sorry OP.

eddielizzard · 27/04/2016 07:55

don't do it!!

VulcanWoman · 27/04/2016 07:59

Probably will get Hev. I like Joy.

SydTheSloth · 27/04/2016 07:59

I adore it! Far better than yet another very well used and worn girls name! If you love it, go ahead!

AugustaFinkNottle · 27/04/2016 08:00

Just no. I'm thinking of it with surnames, and it just sounds ludicrous - Heavenly Jones, Heavenly Evans, Heavenly Smith, Heavenly Higgins.

AugustaFinkNottle · 27/04/2016 08:01

You know she'll get called Heavy all the time, don't you?

HildurOdegard · 27/04/2016 08:04

Polly German isn't it?

Tequilamockinbird · 27/04/2016 08:06

No, it sounds like a Yankee Candle scent.

Sorry

RidersOnTheStorm · 27/04/2016 08:08

Awful. Poor child.

Lottapianos · 27/04/2016 08:12

I knew a little girl called Heavenly Joy through work. She was always called both names together, never just Heavenly. People did seem to find it a bit strange and OTT,sorry OP. Would be a very difficult name to have as an adult I would imagine.

BikeRunSki · 27/04/2016 09:06

Inratger like it tbh, and my children and I all have very staid, traditional names. All names mean something on some language after all. I don't know the OP's cultural origins, but I love the Nigerian(?) tradition of giving gentle adjectives as first names - Precious, Merry etc. I knew a Comfort (surname Golightly) once. Not so difference from the Victotian virtue names - Hope, Faith, Felicity, Charity.

LadyAntonella · 27/04/2016 09:09

Well it is a bit different from Hope etc as it is an adjective not a noun.

blearynweary · 27/04/2016 09:10

I think Paula Yates wrote a book with a child called heavenly joy in it.
