Agree with poster about position in country. Top 100 Scottish names and top 100 London names will be hugely different. Might be worth looking outside where you live for a name that is quirky yet normal IYKWIM.

I like:

Austin
Rupert
Rafferty
Quentin
Tristan

This made me chuckle as three of our previous car names have been mentioned yep I said car
We too are struggling with a boys name. I personally like Theo, Dexter, Dougray, Dylan and Ethan. I think.

Just been at supermarket and there was a boy called Aston.
I know Avery and Tate, but they are girls.
Felix is a very common name in my part of the woods.

Pleasemrstweedie · 13/04/2016 13:48

Kester - an old name due a revival.

Tuiles · 13/04/2016 13:51

Kester is a lovely name.

Lorna- my cars all have had very flouncy, faux-posh names!

Varya · 13/04/2016 13:58

How about 'Warwick' a great British name? Hope you find the name you want,

Cuttheraisins · 13/04/2016 13:59

I work with children and haven't met an under five recently called Michael or Jonathan. Love both names.

lornathewizzard · 13/04/2016 14:14

Guerre my current not posh at all, 17 year old car is called Cedric. Not sure if that's posh or not, ha!

WannaBeAWarhol · 13/04/2016 14:22

DS1 is on your can't use list, DS2 is Xavier. If we had another boy we'd call him Ezra.

guerre · 13/04/2016 14:53

Cedric is quite posh!
Mine are along the lines of Lady Isobella of Braganzia (not the actual name!) IYSWIM when my cars are tiny beaten up hatchbacks Wink
Perhaps I do it subconsciously to make them feel grander than they are?

Pipilangstrumpf · 13/04/2016 15:34

Felix
Quentin
Dexter
Orson
Tristan
Fabian

are all solid classic names that aren't too popular.

DerelictMyBalls · 13/04/2016 17:00

Rory
Miles
Orlando
Cameron
Casey
Kit

Felix has been mentioned a couple of times. I work at a school and out of 200 boys we have 6 Felixes so I wouldn't say it was rare. Not round here, anyway!

I have an Ivor - he's the only one under 70 in these parts. Lots of people tell me how much they like it though.

Lancelottie · 13/04/2016 18:02

Goodness, Mathanxiety, where do you live that Benjamin is unusual? has everyone gone over wholesale to Benedict instead?

I'll offer Edred, because I only know one of those.
