Can I name my child after a vegetable?

My DH has a list of traditional names he wants to call our child. Things like Mary or Sarah if it's a girl and John or Michael if it's a boy.
I've talked to my friends about it and they all seem to think this is a good idea but I have my own list of names that my DH thinks I got rid of.
What I want to know is; are these names good names for a child? So far I've got: Endive, Guava, Pepper, Radish and Zucchini. I like them because they sound exotic and unique.
What do you think?

Ha ha! OP, that last post of yours made it sound like you're actually serious.

You're not serious, are you OP?!

Trust me, no-one is going to think those names are exotic, OP.

It's not serious she's having a laugh! I did know someone who called her son Toffee. It's weird how herb names and flower names work and veg really doesn't!

Ooh, I really like Scallion

Kind of a combination of Rascal and Stallion. Quite macho.

OfficialMum123 you asked for opinions and I, and numerous others, gave you our opinions. Just because people are not rallying around you screaming that Celery is an excellent name or that it is perfectly normal to stuff your pets and keep them forever does not give you the right to send nasty PMs. The PM you sent me has been forwarded to MNHQ. Do not contact me again.

I used to work with a woman named Sage. She was a scary sociopath.

Rosemary? Basil? Lettice? (King) Edward (potato)?

Celeriac....bok choi....parsnip!

No, of course you shouldn't name your baby after a vegetable, except possibly as an affectionate NN.

Why is there still no emoticon?

Op, you send nasty PMs now? I can't imagine what you'll be like when you realise your poor child has a silly name that everyone will mock.

I know a Romaine actually. Until I got to know her better all I thought was "lettuce"

It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye Confused

Besides names like Arugula just don't travel, it's another country's Rocket (or Roquette) Hmm

That's fine, at least MNHQ will now be able to see what's been going on. Personally I think that PM was not half as 'nasty' as the things you have said. Thank you for taking the time to tell me though.
Please don't talk about my child like they're not going to be good enough. I respect that not everyone agrees but you don't have to be so rude about it.
Goodbye.
