Wulfric or Cato

I know most of you will hate these names but after a long process, DH and I have finally come up with a top 2. I love both and DH is leaning towards Wulfric.

DD is called Persephone, which everyone also hated a few years back but it suits her and we've never regretted her name.

So which do you like more? I know some of you will be tempted to say neither but that's not very helpful.

I actually knew a young Wolfric a few years back - he was Wolfie for short (he was about 7 at the time) and it was adorable!

So long as you don't live in the sort of place where he'll get the shit kicked out of him, I'd go for Wolfric OP

Probably don't do Cato. I say this because my dog is called Cato and lots of people pronounce it cat-o. You don't sound like the kind of parents who would be bothered about this sort of thing (good) but your DS may not like it. (Although he might not care either, of course).

I have 2 (!) norwegian uncles called cato, so that would be my favourite!

Wulfric is an excellent name! Not keen of Cato.

(I love the name Persephone too btw.)

@barnet it's pronounced Cay-To but that's a good point, I didn't think people would struggle with the pronunciation.

@confusedandemployed Wolf/Wolfie are great nick names imo

@scribblegirl we live in London and everyone seems to have given their children eccentric names, met a Fox and a Loki at the park the other day, along with 3 Archie's so I think Wulfric will fit in nicely.

I thought this would be a close contest by Wulfric seems to be everyone's choice.

@JoMackl the reactions when we first announced her name were quite funny, but we loved it too much to budge and she adores it as well

If I'm perfectly honest, neither. But Cato is better if I had to pick one of them.

Cato would be my choice. But I like Wulfric, too! (And Persephone, so I guess I like your naming style in general :) )

I'm sorry but i really don't like either name. Just a bit too out there for my taste.

Can't imagine meeting a Wulfric without thinking, ' poor lad, what a name!'

Cato - moggy

I used Cato as a middle name on my DD. Because it was such an awesome name I couldn't not use it, despite her not being a boy!

How about Wolfram instead of Wulfric?
