Emma Fern

bittapitta · 18/01/2016 15:17

Emma. Jemma is a bit... lower ranking socially.

Kim82 · 18/01/2016 15:17

Emma

CJ1505 · 18/01/2016 15:18

Lower ranking socially? What does that mean?

Emma, obviously Wink

But if you're going for Jemma, I prefer Gemma.

pilates · 18/01/2016 15:23

Emma

GingerNutRiskIt · 18/01/2016 15:24

Emma

Botchit · 18/01/2016 15:26

Not keen on either but Emma is much nicer than Jemma/Gemma.

Botchit · 18/01/2016 15:27

Lower ranking socially means it sounds a bit common. Ridiculous but a lot of people make class judgements on names.

CasualJersey · 18/01/2016 15:29

Not a huge fan of either. Both a bit plain and of my generation
(Mid 30's)but I would 100% pick Emma out of those two.

Clobbered · 18/01/2016 15:31

Emma - it's a classic.

Jw35 · 18/01/2016 15:39

Emma I agree with Jemma sounding common sorry

HerdOfRhino · 18/01/2016 15:44

I prefer Jemma. I prefer it spelt as Gemma though.

There is a saint Gemma actually, which I was surprised about, as I did not realise it was such an old name.

You might also like the name Jenna, as an alternative.

Doilooklikeatourist · 18/01/2016 15:45

Emma is the nicer ( my name . I'm over 50 )
I don't like Jemma , prefer Gemma

NHKX2 · 18/01/2016 15:46

I also prefer Emma; otherwise much prefer Gemma to Jemma.

CJ1505 · 18/01/2016 15:56

So, Jemma/Gemma is better for 16+? Thanks , I'll go with Emma

cocacola1006 · 18/01/2016 16:04

Emma
I don't know how but Gemma fern made me think germaphobe which is random.
Emma fern is lovely

iciclewinter · 18/01/2016 20:31

Gemma with a G. It's a lovely name and I don't know of any young Gemmas. Emma is nice but a bit duller in comparison. I think of Jemma as short for Jemima, which I don't like.

Thenightswatch · 18/01/2016 20:35

Emma but I'm biased Grin

Sadik · 18/01/2016 20:38

Jemma - I know 9 women called Emma in my immediate social circle, and they're nearly all 40 or above.

To me Jemma/Gemma is a cool, arty teen/twentysomething, so I would go for that one.

PooDogMillionaire · 18/01/2016 22:41

Jemma/Gemma a bit naff, sorry.

Emma is a very very popular name among women in their late 30's early 40's. I know about 5.

What about Jemima?

IMurderedStampyLongnose · 18/01/2016 22:45

Emma,never Jemma.

Surf25 · 18/01/2016 22:46

Emma. Lovely name.

IoraRua · 18/01/2016 22:48

Gemma with a g is lovely. Never liked Jemma, always thought it looked ugly.
I don't like Emma much.
