Alternatives to Rex

So, I have an issue! We have a while to go, but Dsis has just had a Rex and that was the only boys name we'd agreed on and now it's completely out. Luckily we hadn't discussed names (agreed not too just in case of this scenario), but I'm now in a bit of a panic.

Current alternatives are:
Arlo (my second favourite, DH hates)
Leo (DH's favourite, I like, but sounds stupid with our surname)
Theo (I like, DH thinks it's too posh)

Can you lovely ladies please suggest something that we might be able to agree on, please?

I like Rocco but guess what? DH doesn't.

Our girls list has my favourite (DH hates) & his favourite (I hate), but I'll include them both as one of these will probably be the name of we have a girl, Claudia, Madeleine, Rosalie, Romilly and Etta.

Zippy what are your girls options because I'm still happy for suggestions!

Ha, Tex makes me think of Texas Pete from Super Ted! I've never heard Tex before. Not sure it's for us.

Rafe is super cool!

Otis is also a potential, I've forgotten most of my list because we'd decided but Otis, Vincent and Winston were on there but now DH isn't sure. I don't think he can get past Leo (& it really doesn't sound right with our surname).

I like Ted, Ned and Nate but DH isn't keen. I thought Theodore would be good so he could choose to be Ted or Theo, but it's still a definite no.

Rafe was also on my list (I really need to find my list), but is also quite posh, but not as posh as Theo apparently Hmm

See DH imagine him to be driving a battered old Range Rover around his estate and listing his hobbies as clay pigeon shooting and wine tasting. I can see a Rafe being a surfer or being in a grunge band or something...

The thread has moved on since but to answer your question about Ferdy (Ferdinand)... I think it is a bit posh, although not as posh as Fergus. And certainly not as posh as IGNATIUS! Grin at the thought of your DH's reaction to that gem!

Honestly the fact that he's rejected so many is annoying ME so it must be annoying you!

Interestingly your girls' shortlist seems to be posher and more classic than your shortlist for boys. More suggestions:
Ella
Eva
Ava
Ada
Rose

OP our girls names are a mixed bag- Anna Kate etta greta Helena tess Juliet. Your dh sounds like mine rejecting names. It's beyond frustrating!

Most of the suggestions on this thread have been on our list at some stage. I didn't realise Fergus was seen as posh? Gus (full name Fergus is on our shortlist) but had never considered it as posh before.

How many weeks are you?
