What names do YOU think are popular?

So, our new arrival is weeks away and I am becoming obsessed with the popularity of the names on our short list... Looking at the latest ONS statistics I'm struck by how it doesn't particularly reflect the names I hear a lot, for example I know no Amelias or Jacks but multiple Irises and Laurences. I imagine it's partially down to geography (I'm in London) but I'd be really interested to know what names you come across a lot among babies/ small children.

Finn (also know quite a few of these and I don't think it's that high ranking on the popularity charts)

I said 'finn' too, and was thinking the same thing. Though they could be short for Finley, the number I've heard around, which is very popular in the charts.

I'm in greater London.
3 women at work have called their daughters Evie, Evie and Evelyn.
I've also heard lots of Isla, Olivia, Isabel/la and Bella.
Boys names I hear are more varied, I only know one Oliver and one Jack and one Oscar.

Finley/Finlay or Harry for boys! One year i knew 4 people give birth to a finlay/finley! and Harry is constantly popular.
For girls I find there are a lot of Isabel/Isabelle/Isabella etc. Because, like Finley, there are different spellings, its not shown as high on the popularity charts as each spelling is counted differently. so sometimes its wise to look down the whole 100 names and see how many variations of the same name are on there.

PallasCat · 04/09/2015 17:56

BOYS: I cannot move for Jacks and Arrons.

GIRLS: Taking in all the variations, the combined power of Eve, Evie and Evelyn is pretty awesome.
Ditto Sophia/Sofia/Sophie.
And ditto Iso/abel/le/la
