Hi all,

Within a month or so we will have a little boy causing havoc. We are down to a three name shortlist, two have been early favourites with one late addition, they are:

Oscar John
Harrison John
Jetson John (late addition)

As you can see, we have already decided on John as his middle name. We would love to hear your opinions. Smile

Oscar for me :)

MetallicInk · 10/03/2015 00:50

I'm another vote for Oscar

NadiaWadia · 10/03/2015 00:54

Oscar definitely.

Harry is better than Harrison

Jetson, seriously? Like the cartoon?

DianeLockhart · 10/03/2015 01:39

Oscar

CultureSucksDownWords · 10/03/2015 01:43

Oscar, or a very distant second place to Harrison. Just definitely not Jetson.

BlueStarsAtNight · 10/03/2015 02:11

Definitely Oscar for me, followed by Harrison. I really don't like Jetson, I don't think it will ever escape the cartoon.

FatSwan · 10/03/2015 02:15

Oscar

Jetson is bloody awful sorryGrin

Namechanged101 · 10/03/2015 03:55

Something weird going on for me as I'm very traditional usually but Jetson John sounds pretty awesome actually.
Not a fan of Harrison at all.
Oscar is ok

Another vote for Oscar.

Not Jetson!

jaynebxl · 10/03/2015 05:12

Jetson and Harrison sound silly with John because there are too many "ons".

Pele01 · 10/03/2015 06:03

Thanks for your responses!

After mentioning the name Jetson to a couple of friends not one associated it to the cartoon! To be fair none of them knew there was a cartoon called "The Jestons" until I consulted my good friend google. I don't know if thats due to a combination of being from the UK (maybe less popular over here) and also being of the younger generation, mid twenties??

I suppose for us, it would be similar to calling him Bart (simpsons) but the association with "The Jetsons" just isn't there for us nor would it be for his generation, being 28 years since it was last aired? Am I clutching at straws? Grin

Anyway, loving your opinions, keep them coming! Smile

Oscar
Jetson. - nope.

StrawberryMojito · 10/03/2015 06:06

To be honest, cartoon or no cartoon, Jetson is fairly terrible. Oscar john is the best of your names.

Qwebec · 10/03/2015 06:20

I'm in my mid twenties and I immediatly associated it with the cartoon.
Up to you if the link bothers you or not.

Penguinotterfoxbadger · 10/03/2015 07:08

Never heard of the cartoon myself - I thought flotsam and jetsam. Jetson just doesn't sound like a name to me.. Sorry.

Oscar and Harrison are both lovely though.

manicinsomniac · 10/03/2015 07:50

Love both Oscar and Harrison.

Not keen on Jetson at all.

Harrison might have the edge for me.

BabyNeedsChocolate · 10/03/2015 08:05

I quite like the alliteration of J.J. but the name Jetson itself reminds me of the cartoon (think it was from the sixties but there were lots of repeats). How about Jackson, Jefferson, or Jenson/ Jensen if you like the style of the name?

RL20 · 10/03/2015 08:56

Hi! I haven't read any other comments so just going by your list only. Jetson John is my favourite, also love Jet as a nickname Smile

BreeVDKamp · 10/03/2015 09:00

Jetson is cool! I've never heard of the Jetsons (mid 20s).

I do love Oscar but it's quite popular! We also considered Harrison but it's too like my name.

I would pick Jetson!

Jackieharris · 10/03/2015 09:09

I don't see how people can object to jetson but are ok with oscar which is an award statue- always thought that was a very odd name.

Prefer Harris to Harrison- it's too Ford.

GoooRooo · 10/03/2015 09:10

Oscar!

FunkyPeacock · 10/03/2015 09:11

Another vote for Oscar John

Not keen on Harrison and really don't like Jetson
