Hi all,

Within a month or so we will have a little boy causing havoc. We are down to a three name shortlist, two have been early favourites with one late addition, they are:

Oscar John
Harrison John
Jetson John (late addition)

As you can see, we have already decided on John as his middle name. We would love to hear your opinions. Smile

John. Please use as first name.

Oscar is my 2nd fav.

I dislike Harrison and jetson.

SpooneriseShinyTights · 10/03/2015 09:16

Oscar then Harrison.

And a great big thank you OP for giving me my first proper chuckle of the day with Jetson Grin Grin .

Jetson. PMSL Grin .

Bicnod · 10/03/2015 09:16

Oscar. I have one and they rock Grin

MadameJosephine · 10/03/2015 09:18

Oscar John is my wonderful nephew's name so I vote for that. Harrison is ok but I really don't like Jetson, sorry

CultureSucksDownWords · 10/03/2015 09:30

Oscar is a centuries old celtic name, I don't think anyone would think that someone was naming their child after the awards!

InQuiteAPickle · 10/03/2015 09:40

The Jetson's hasn't aired for 28 years? Shock are you sure?

I was about 7 when I went to see Jetsons The Movie at the cinema and it wasn't 28 years ago. I'm 31.

InQuiteAPickle · 10/03/2015 09:45

Just googled and the movie was 1990, which makes sense.

Sophronia · 10/03/2015 09:59

Oscar John

applerosalie · 10/03/2015 10:25

Harrison nn Harry gets my vote Smile

Bowlersarm · 10/03/2015 10:27

Oscar, by far.

EeekNumber4 · 10/03/2015 15:25

Oscar

roastpots · 10/03/2015 16:13

Oscar gets my vote. And Harrison is OK. Not keen on Jetson.

MsQueenie22 · 10/03/2015 16:16

Oscar John.

Have you considered John Oscar? There aren't many Johns and it is a good strong name. Johnny is a lovely nn.

pilates · 10/03/2015 16:21

Oscar, the other two are dreadful.

gallicgirl · 10/03/2015 16:23

Harrison.

Jetson is atrocious. How about Jefferson?

sosix · 10/03/2015 16:24

No 1 oscar

I don't like Harrison, Harry better

Jetson its your hormones

WindMeUpAndLetMeGo · 10/03/2015 16:26

I like Jetson!! Reminds me of Jett from Home and Away. However I don't think it goes with John (not much help!).

I prefer Harrison to Oscar.

DarkBlueEyes · 10/03/2015 16:32

There are hundreds if not thousands of Oscars, so personally I'd avoid it if I were you.

I like Harrison. Jetson? Seriously? That's a recipe for disaster....

AndWhenYouGetThere · 10/03/2015 19:29

John as first name is perfect.

Oscar would be my second choice but Jetson and Harrison with John as middle are too rhyming. on on ... and on and on!

SpaceKoala · 10/03/2015 19:35

Harrison is my favourite Smile

chocfireguard · 10/03/2015 20:39

Never understand why some people are so rude on here. Just because it isn't face to face doesn't mean that saying a name that someone is thinking of for their child is laughable isn't still hurtful.

Anyhow, I love nn Jet and think Jetson is the best of the 3 (Oscar is soooo popular and just not keen on Harrison).

I do think John Jetson is ace though...

akorda · 10/03/2015 20:41

Oscar is everywhere. Your son will probably be one of loads in his class! It is a nice name, but sounds "overdone" now if you see what I mean.

What about Otis or Otto as "cooler' alternatives? Only met one of each.

I like Harrison. I have met a lot of Harrys but only one Harrison.

Jetson is brave but pretty cool! Jet is a rather lovely nickname.

So: Harrison then Jetson then Otto/Otis!

toffeeboffin · 10/03/2015 20:42

Oscar rocks!

scratchandsniff · 10/03/2015 20:44

Oscar!

Harrison is OK, really don't like Jetson.

Pele01 · 10/03/2015 21:53

Oh no, looks like Jetson is getting a bit of a slating?! Sad

Like a couple of people have already said we would probably use Jet as his nn, or another alternative could be JJ (Jetson John) but were not so keen on that. I quite like Ozzy also, so would probably use that as a nn for Oscar.

We thought with Oscar and Harrison being fairly common (especially Oscar's, they seems to be everywhere at the minute), Jetson would be a "brave" break from the norm.

Again loving your input, keep them coming Grin
