Has anything ruined your DC's name?...

Just a bit of Friday fun... Our baby daughter is called Annabelle, forevermore to be associated with a horror film about a haunted doll... Thank you very much indeed Warner Brothers! So it got me thinking about other people whose child's name has been tainted by a film/book/vile celeb etc. There must be plenty of parents of Elsa/Annas out there cursing Frozen!!!...

No Yonic, just the ones I know who are named Sam. It happens fairly often in the states.

Florrie the phrase "Oliver clothes off" ruined Oliver for me to some extent! Not enough to put me off using it in the middle, though! :)

We've chosen Arthur for our unborn baby, when we told MIL and FIL they laughed and started saying "Affa pint?" "Affa mile"....um, we didn't actually ask your opinion AND it only sounds like "half of" in your stupid accent. Pregnancy rage was in full force that day!
I am also worried Will and Kate will choose Arthur if they have another boy, but I'm due after her so can wait and see. I wouldn't use it if they did as it's too soon after. I'd be a bit gutted but not as much as if she was due a weeks after me and chose it!

There is a cat cowgirl on Disney Junior channel with the name DD goes by, apparently Grin it doesn't ruin the name for me though.

Oh, and her middle name (Teagan) is supposedly universally hated on MN.

A certain celebrity had a son and gave him the same name as my eldest. Which is fine, it isn't a hugely uncommon name. What was weird was whe this celebrity went on to have a second son and call him the same as my second son! I am waiting to see if this celebrity has any more children who end up with the same names as the rest of my children... It didn't ruin the names for me at all, it was just a fairly weird thing!!

I don't get the dislike over Teagan. I guess I know an extremely whip smart, funny, feminist tegan so it has good associations for me.

Bizarrely whenever I mention her to my friends they always say what a lovely name. This is in RL.

My DD is Lydia. Every fecker I meet seems to mishear it as 'Olivia' and it drives me mad. Might be my accent, I don't know.

It hasn't put me off the name, and it does suit her, but it is annoying...

I've heard lots of other slagging about the name Lydia - "bin lid" "chlamydia" etc etc, but they've never annoyed me.
