Ours is Victor (after Victor Jara) and Glenn (after our favorite neighbor)

DD2 is Kari but nobody else than me agrees!

frames · 07/06/2014 21:34

Alex. The son I never had.

PenguinsHatchedAnEgg · 08/06/2014 09:26

Hermione and Josiah.

Holfin · 08/06/2014 09:30

Emily as a middle name. I thought it didn't go with DD's first name well enough but with hindsight it is a much nicer name than what we chose

Nocomet · 08/06/2014 09:31

Rebecca (an ex of DHs so veto'd) - just like it
James (I have two DDs) - it's a second name all over both families.

Spottybra · 08/06/2014 09:31

Eleanor and Lewis as third middle names.

PacificDogwood · 08/06/2014 09:33

Anna Katarina Neve - I though it'd be a bit odd for a boy

Gogogodaddy · 08/06/2014 10:15

Esme, was concerned about the es-mee es-may discussions

juneau · 08/06/2014 10:21

I wanted Elliott and Gabriel. I didn't get them.

looki · 08/06/2014 13:40

Celeste - I love it but it didn't go with DD1's first name but I chose a very boring mn instead. If I had another daughter (which won't be happening!) I'd use it as first name.

MothershipG · 08/06/2014 13:48

Tegwyn - didn't hear it until after DD was already named, she is greatly relieved as she hates it! Grin She would have been Teggy, how cute is that?????

Ewieindwie1 · 08/06/2014 13:50

Juliet and Camille and Anna and Victoria.... But loved the names I did give too.

devoncreamtea · 08/06/2014 14:47

Iris and Gilbert.

I know. I know, Gilbert.....but...I loved Anne of Green Gables!

Iris, beautiful flowers, means rainbow - what's not to love?! Dh said it made him think of eyes (not in a good way)

mother Teggy is deeply cute!

HilariousInHindsight · 08/06/2014 14:59

Alex for a boy.

Because we have a DD and I'm sure she wouldn't like it.

Perhaps if we have a DS...

I have a friend called Alex though and I don't want him to get too big headed!

FatalCabbage · 08/06/2014 14:59

DS2 really should have been Christopher nn Kit. Couldn't use it for DS3 as it wouldn't really go with DS2's actual name.

Saved Kit in case planned DC3 turned out to be a girl (Catherine Helen Charlotte, nn Kitty). He definitively didn't.

And I had to give up on James and Juliet because I married a Mr J and don't like alliterative names.

floatyflo · 08/06/2014 15:24

Matilda. Loved it. Didn't use as getting so popular (mother on Labour ward opposite me named her baby Matilda).

But damn my daughter looks like one. And it's everywhere at the moment. The film on telly, a song by my favourite band...Bugger.

DramaAlpaca · 08/06/2014 18:00

Emma.

It didn't really suit any of my boys Grin, but at least I got to use my three favourite boys' names.

nasara · 08/06/2014 18:32

devoncreamtea I love the character Gilbert Blythe! You've made me start considering 'Gilbert'!

devoncreamtea · 08/06/2014 19:35

nasara - hurrah!! If you don't choose Rafe choose Gilbert! (control freak....)

Also - Blythe - great girls name!

spookyskeleton · 08/06/2014 19:36

Part of me wishes that I had used DS 1's middle name (Luke) instead of his actual name.

Also Cassie, the daughter I never had!

FatherSpodoKomodo · 08/06/2014 21:12

Elijah for DS2. Regretted it as soon as I named him, but DH had told family and I felt I couldn't change my mind. He's 12 now so a bit late to change it, and in a way I'm glad as he has ASD and learning difficulties and his name is very easy for him to spell and write.

Ptolemy for DS5. Yes, really! I just wasn't brave enough, and although my mum likes it I knew my ILs would be WTF???? They were bad enough with the name I actually did give him, and it's not that unusual. Not sure it would really suit him anyway, whereas his chosen name is totally him and I loved it just as much as Ptolemy.

And of course, having all boys, all those girls names I never got to use!

Matilda
Emilia
Freya
Astrid
Elsie

MikeLitoris · 08/06/2014 21:16

I really wanted to call dd2 Elsie but Dp vetoed. Had to settle for Eliza.

Slightly different but exp really wanted to call Ds Felix or Casper. I refused at the time but now I wish I had been brave enough to go for a more unusual name

janie2 · 08/06/2014 21:22

Blythe, I had forgotten how much I loved that name devon. Dh would never have allowed it anyway but it goes straight on my list for this thread!!

Slight pang for a Fergus, didn't name ds this as I love his name too and had to decide!

I was lucky I got to use my fave names in the end!

Hairylegs47 · 08/06/2014 21:23

DS2 should've been Robert
DS3 should've been Nicholas
DS4 should have had a middle name, Luke
DD2 should've had the middle name Kathryn
But I also think it should've been Rosie

I made DD1 promise to call her DD Rosie. Didn't she 'just' go and have 2 boys. Just to spite me Wink
