Thanks OneDayWhenIGrowUp

Has anyone said Fox for a boy? I kind of like that! X

People often choose longer names as then child can choose nickname as they grow. Ie Edward. Often is teddy as baby, teddy/ eddy as small child, then ed or ted from teens up with Edward when formal

Oh and we have a niece who's nn is dolly at the moment. But her full name is Dorathea. She's a toddler and gets dori most the time but also dolly or dotty. She can choose dori/ Dora/ thea/ Dorathea/ dolly/ dotty etc as she likes

I love the name, Fox! It sounds incredibly stupid with our surname too. As would Farty Bum bum and Kitty Kitty Wee Smell! Grin

angelinterceptor · 01/05/2014 19:36

Love your names already and some great name choices here

My DD has Boo as a middle name and chooses to use it often although some people probably think is a nickname.

My DS has a very very unusual name and while not being quite like your choices he still never gets any stick or teasing about it and he is 14 now.
He is mostly known just by his first name now everywhere - no need for a surname when your name is unusual.

HattyMonkey · 01/05/2014 19:40

I don't understand why some people think that Herbie, Dolly and Monty are so out there. Buster Boo is more so but Buster is a boys name.

I like your style too - perhaps more on the first names that middle ones so I hope you find something on this thread that stands out. My boys have relatively unused names and I love that they are the only kids we know with them.. I suggest:

Mortimer
Rocky
Albie
Milton

Dodie
Pearl
Lux
Doris
Biba

I just remembered the name I wanted to use if I had another DC

It's Bode ( after the Olympic skier Bode Miller)

It's pronounced Bodie

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 01/05/2014 20:14

I had Fox as a middle/second name! I think it'd be a supercool first name though. Rex is cool too. I love the pairing a grandad name with a more off-the-wall one.

None of your children's names would make me raise my eyebrows. They're all real names, and pretty cool ones at that. I've always loved Monty and Buster makes me think of the comic of the same name I used to read when I was a child.

I love Fox too.

I know a Flash Monkey - fantastic name, suits him and his wonderful, creative parents.

I love Pixie for a girl. OH and I have had some really unkind comments about name choices. We love the name Elvis and after reading this thread I'm putting it back on the list! Smile Smile
