Persephone

One of the names me and my husband love for our baby if it is a girl is Persephone. However we are struggling with the middle names.

We need two or three middle names. These can be English names or Classical Greek.

I am open to suggestions.

Many Thanks

I assume the "imagine screeching the name in soft play" argument doesn't come into play here? Since I imagine the nanny will be the one screeching, and one wouldn't be seen dead at gymboree anyway...

Spaghettinetti · 17/04/2014 15:13

OP, do you like Selene, Metis or Erato? Just a few others, I was mulling over... How about Dione? Or Olympia? I'm not sure they'd all go with Persephone Marina, but thought I'd throw them into the mix.

Personally, I think you could use Persephone Marina Eleni...

Onyabike · 17/04/2014 15:26

I don't believe Upper Class people do thumbprints Viviennemary! How very common of you.

squoosh · 17/04/2014 15:29

They use a wax seal instead.

StampyIsMyBoyfriend · 17/04/2014 15:38

Hot wax could be dangerous, a small X with her Mont Blanc would suffice

Bowlersarm · 17/04/2014 15:41

Love it OP.

Prefer Sephie as a nn to Percy.

spatchcock · 17/04/2014 16:08

OP seems a bit sneery of the middle classes. Bizarre that she's seeking out the opinions of the great unwashed to begin with, she might see names that she deems as MC or even - gasp - WC names mentioned on this thread.

OP I have thought about it and I suggest Persephone Tyffani.

Onyabike · 17/04/2014 16:15

Or Persephone Princess Tiaamii Crystal?

squoosh · 17/04/2014 16:18

My dear, I live smack bang in the centre of w8, so I shall keep an eye out for you shouldn't be too hard to spot

And you are clearly uneducated as any properly educated person wouldn't DREAM of randomly selecting Greek names together like you are planning (plus you didn't get the kitto ref, which is amateur)

Others - I asked (one of) my pennys how the nn came about...and she said it was because SHE XOULDNT PRONOUNCE PERSPEHONE until she was about 9. At which point I howled with laughter

Gileswithachainsaw · 17/04/2014 16:54

Arf @ angel

:o

OooOooTheMonkey · 17/04/2014 17:00

Is the OP Katie Hopkins?! Hmm

Lj8893 · 17/04/2014 17:02

That went through my mind monkey!!

squoosh · 17/04/2014 17:04

If someone could fix it so I too could live bang in the middle of W8 I'd be ever so grateful. Sadly I don't own a Rolls but please don't let that put you off. I'll bring my own brand of earthy charm!

Gileswithachainsaw · 17/04/2014 17:06

I wondered if it was waynetta sat at home with recordings of top gear and a copy of Marie Claire she found on the bus

OooOooTheMonkey · 17/04/2014 17:07

How utterly pretentious! People who brag about how rich they are can only be described as vulgar.

angeltulips · 17/04/2014 17:14

If it makes you feel better squoosh, I may live in w8 but I don't even own a car (use a city car when I need, which isn't often)

TinklyLittleLaugh · 17/04/2014 17:17

My humble opinion,

Petentious as fuck darling.

Most of the people I know would wilfully mispronounce it just to wind the OP up.

Spaghettinetti · 17/04/2014 17:27

Spatchcock, Tyffani comes from the Greek 'Theophania', so it could work ;-)

Alisvolatpropiis · 17/04/2014 17:44

I don't really think it's on to copy and paste previous posts the op has made purely to mock her.

Megrim · 17/04/2014 18:36

But relevant given the uncalled for comments OP made to someone else considering names for their own child that she deemed didn't come up to her own classical standards.

Viviennemary · 17/04/2014 18:57

Persephone Princess Tiaamii Crystal?

That is a good name for a pageant queen. And I suppose they could count as minor royalty.

NearTheWindymill · 17/04/2014 18:58

Somehow I don't think the OP is called Zenoushka. Grin

Alisvolatpropiis · 17/04/2014 18:59

Grin @ angel that's hilarious!

I quite like the name Aurora (not enough to actually use it) but do think "what if the poor girl grew up unable to pronounce her R's". Bit of a risk!

drinkingtea · 17/04/2014 19:25

OP doesn't write well enough to be material gathering for a book, and rwal "UC" people call their children by much more ordinary names... she's just tired of watching afternoon repeats and the food she eats and havong a bit of fun with the great unwashed ... looks like its been going on a while. Too harmless and amusing to report as anything other than a daydreamer trying to bring her paperback to life on the pages of MN though :o
