The other half doesnt like this name, but I love it, I think it is really different.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
squoosh · 04/03/2014 15:31

I think 'What do you think?' is great, not too popular but everyone's heard of it.

Wink
HoratiaDrelincourt · 04/03/2014 15:32

What nicknames though? Thinky? And what if child has a lisp?

squoosh · 04/03/2014 15:33

I like ? as a nickname. Short and feminine.

becki93 · 04/03/2014 15:34

Shit, it didnt even post the name haha.
How dim of me.

Obie is the name.

squoosh · 04/03/2014 15:34

Wan Kenobi?

Ummmm........

Bowlersarm · 04/03/2014 15:35

Obadiah?

becki93 · 04/03/2014 15:35

Its spelt differently to Obi Wan Kenobi..

Its better!
I havent heard it and don't think its a name he will get bullied over.

OP posts:
squoosh · 04/03/2014 15:37

Yep, I can't imagine anyone~ asking to see his light sabre.

becki93 · 04/03/2014 15:38

You think children are going to realise that?
Not unless their parents have an influence on teaching their child how to bully.

OP posts:
squoosh · 04/03/2014 15:42

There is no way on this planet that someone called Obi will make it through a single day without a Star Wars comment.

You must know that!

becki93 · 04/03/2014 15:43

My cousins are called:

Hudson
Presley
Gable
Niven

and they dont seem to get anything.

OP posts:
pictish · 04/03/2014 15:44

What about Coby/Cobie instead?
I quite like Obie, but I agree that the Star Wars references will come thick and fast.

squoosh · 04/03/2014 15:45

Well then you should follow family tradition and call your child Guinness or MacGregor!

becki93 · 04/03/2014 15:45

I think Cobie is more of a black name.
It reminds me of the basketball player

OP posts:
squoosh · 04/03/2014 15:46

Oh dear.

pictish · 04/03/2014 15:47

Oh does it? My dh's friend is Coby and he's a pasty Scotsman - always thought it suited him. Oh well.

Bowlersarm · 04/03/2014 15:47

I don't believe you OP. Your cousins cannot have those names. (If they do Obi looks a bit tame tbh) He will get Star Wars comments though. And confused with Toby, Coby.

LeslieKnope · 04/03/2014 15:49

Hudson
Presley
Gable
Niven

With middle names Rock, Elvis, Clark and David presumably??

Confused
becki93 · 04/03/2014 15:49

My cousins do have those names.
Oh well I will have to make him like Star Wars and carry a light saber around.

OP posts:
pictish · 04/03/2014 15:50

I think your cousins names aren't as obvious for teasing as Obie is, because of the Star Wars thing.

becki93 · 04/03/2014 15:50

LeslieKnope, unfortunately she never took it that far!
But no surprising thats who they are named after.

OP posts:
becki93 · 04/03/2014 15:51

I would have thought Elvis was a lot more popular than Star Wars though

OP posts:
squoosh · 04/03/2014 15:51

I hope little Gable and Niven nave raffish pencil moustaches.

pictish · 04/03/2014 15:52

Kids nowadays have no idea who Elvis Presley is. Not so Obi Wan - they ALL know who he is.

pictish · 04/03/2014 15:53

Is? Was.
