A sister for Jupiter?

We have decided to wait until the twins are born to decide their names as it seems we can't settle on two this time round. We're having b/g twins and have a list of possible names that flow and match each other as well as the other DC.

We both fell in love with Jupiter so it's on the list but cannot find a girl's name that matches (topic wise) or flows. We did love Astra Faye but sounds too close to Ash Tray!

We don't like Juniper, Juno as they're too close in name.

Any ideas?

Dammit, missed the 'd' out of Rhonda, sorry haha.

You need to brainwash him to like Gemini. It's absolutely wonderful, sounds good with Jupiter, and alludes to stars and twins.

MM, don't get yourself boiled up justifying name choices, the reason anyone gives their child a name is because they have a vision of what they want them to be. I didn't want a George or an an Annabel either!

RhondaJean · 21/09/2013 17:17

(I wouldn't recommend rhonda btw Grin)

daughterofafarmer · 21/09/2013 17:50

why are you getting off topic? haha please tell me you're not being totally serious...going off topic is what happens on threads Grin

Let us know what you pick?

littlemisssarcastic · 21/09/2013 18:12

I also like Calypso and Jupiter. It just goes well together. Smile

charleslingus · 21/09/2013 18:20

I'm a Pandora!!

(I'm also the one with a godfather called Jupiter so this thread is making me very excited)

Bowlersarm · 21/09/2013 18:32

I also like Jupiter and wish dh liked astro names.... I'm chuffed that Gaia is a possibility (my first ever suggestion that's actually been considered!)

A pp mentioned a Jilly Cooper character called Jupiter with a brother called Viridian - he also had another called Alizarin, which I always quite liked... (Blush that I know this....)

MakeHayIsAWhaleNow · 21/09/2013 18:46

And I also love Cassiopeia, nn Cassie, or Calliope. We already have a (much more mainstream but still beautiful) girls name beginning with C in our family though, and wanted to avoid initial repeats so they are out.

Love Estelle, too!

MultipleMama · 21/09/2013 19:17

Rhonda - Trying not to wind myself up but I'm so sensitive this PG. Even DH is weary around me. I think it's because I just want these weeks to hurry up and it's making me snappy haha.

I know people get off topic on threads but I didn't even ask what people thought because to be honest I didn't care, I was only interested in names for my dd. But meh, I'll deal with it.

DH wants to look through the names when he gets home. So I'm sure he'll comment on which suggestions he likes :)

Please let us know what his comments are like.

I don't think there is anything wrong with a name like this, some people like run of the mill names like Charlotte, some don't. Nobody is right and nobody is wrong.

I like Cassandra but the association with Rodney and the nickname Cassie puts me off, I nearly called my daughter that.

I do really like pandora.

filee777 · 21/09/2013 20:02

Love aurora.

shrinkingnora · 21/09/2013 20:04

I was going to say Andromeda but see it has already been suggested. Think they go really well together.

Jupiter and Marilla?
Jupiter and Leona?
Jupiter and Ariadne?

Have surprised myself by really liking the name Jupiter! My kids have very boring names. People still comment on them. DS1 is called George and gets teased and called Georgie porgy. He doesn't give a monkey's!

NationMcKinley · 21/09/2013 20:11

Ooo! Love Pandora!

MultipleMama · 21/09/2013 21:00

DH who suggested Jupiter here! :) Personally I think my boy will rock his name Wink.

Isn't Aurora a Princess from Sleeping Beauty. Never did like that film. So I'm not keen on name.

I like Gaia but then DW mentioned the Gaius thread on here. (I love that name by the way!).

I see nobody liked Nyx :(

What do you think of Cruz, Phoenix, Nova?

Not keen on the C names though. Any more suggestions? :)

DH here again. What do you think of Alula? Trying to convince DW!

OP posts:
LentilAsAnything · 21/09/2013 21:23

Hallo! I love Jupiter, please use it!

Nyx is great, can I also suggest Nixie, it has German ties too: www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/0/Nixie. I love fairies and sprites and stuff though.

I really love Phoenix, it is beautiful. Is this for the girl, or a middle name for Jupiter?

Lucky you, enjoy naming those babies.

LentilAsAnything · 21/09/2013 21:25

Nova is a car, a bit off putting for me, but it's ok. I wouldn't frown at anyone for using it!

RhondaJean · 21/09/2013 21:31

Crux and Phoenix are both names of children of spice girls.

Nova is nice, it's the name my friend uses when she teaches yoga.

Alula would be called talulah and something sounds vaguely related to genitalia about it to me.

I'm telling you man, Gemini.

mathanxiety · 21/09/2013 21:32

A Greek selection:
Olympia
Appolonia
Chrysanthe
Damaris
Demeter (would share the ER ending of Jupiter)
Eirene (means 'peace')
Cleo
Roxane ('dawn')
Xenia
Zoe
*spell Chrysanthe or Cleo with a K but you risk the Kardashian effect.

NOOOOOOO to Alula. (Consider it Nyxed)

Pachacuti · 21/09/2013 21:36

Cruz is a bit Beckham Jr., Phoenix I've seen used more for boys of late, and Nova is a car. Sorry.

Alula sounds a bit like Tallulah, and it's another name for "bastard wing", which I would find offputting.

What about Aura instead of Aurora? Nita, Elva, Alba, Aline, Neva, Leta, Alida?

shrinkingnora · 21/09/2013 21:37

Aurelia?

BlueChampagne · 21/09/2013 21:38

Vashti

PrincessGrotbags · 21/09/2013 21:42

Storm or Hero.

I love Jupiter by the way. I gave the name to my foal but only because I'm not having more kids Grin he gets Jupes which I quite like too.
