thatwasadaftidea · 17/08/2013 21:52

thatwasadaftidea · 17/08/2013 22:04

Thanks for everyone's opinions. The problem I've got is that I don't have a favourite. Partly I can't imagine this one will be a girl.

nailslikeknives · 17/08/2013 22:05

Love Beatrice. As long as your surname doesn't start with 'O' :-) kids can be cruel etc etc.
Anyhoo, Beatrice and Audrey are my fave girls' names.

nailslikeknives · 17/08/2013 22:07

Oh, sorry, just saw your last name does end with an o. Guess that's the end of Beatrice for me.

Viviennemary · 17/08/2013 22:07

I like April, Edith, Hester, Iris and Sylvie.

exoticfruits · 17/08/2013 22:15

Edith

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 17/08/2013 22:17

You can probably cut that list in half tonight just by doing this: practise repeating the name at least 7 times whilst issuing a command across a busy playgroup. Like: Ophelia put your shoes on. Ophelia... Ophelia! Ophelia, shoes on please. Now please! Ophelia are you even listening? OPHELIA, shoes! Right, that's it. Ophelia, 1....2...

Hmm

You will say it a million times a day. If it doesn't trip off the tongue easily, if it feels pretentious or unnatural, if you worry what other people will think about it, write it off straight away.

thatwasadaftidea · 17/08/2013 22:20

good idea, but of course any daughter of mine wouldn't need shouted at in the supermarket surely! Grin

ok so i did that, I only come up with Iris as passing the supermarket test.

DoItTooJulia · 17/08/2013 22:23

Oh, I love Renee.

Hate Esme.

The rest are ok, but I prefer the likes of Otillie, Odette and Loveday....

thatwasadaftidea · 17/08/2013 22:23

ok, these are passing the supermarket screech test for me.

Edith
Esme
Hester
Iris
Polly
Sylvie

Bumblebee78 · 17/08/2013 22:26

Got to agree with Jamesandthegiantbanana, think about how the name will sound when you are hollering it across the park to your child...again, about a million times!

HahaHarrie · 17/08/2013 22:28

My favourties from your list...

Delphi
Inez - prefer Ines
Iris
Kit/Kitty
Polly
Theodora/Thea/Teddy

DoitTooJulia - I love Loveday too. If I was Cornish I would definitely have it.
