Hadley. Never heard of this before, but I like it. Maybe it reminds me of Tony Hadley?

thatwasadaftidea · 20/08/2013 21:00

Hadley Richardson

Farrah or Hester imo

noodlebum · 22/08/2013 15:28

Astrid is great, one of my favourite girl names!

I also like Beatrice and Iris.

nevergoogle · 18/09/2013 18:55

resurrecting this thread without the namechange.

i still really really like Iris, but both DH and DM have turned their nose up at it.

really not coming up with any other favourites for boys either.

Iamgoodbutnotanangel · 18/09/2013 19:56

Renee or Farrah

AurorasShoes · 19/09/2013 02:52

Haven't read the whole thread but from your original list I like:

Artemis (with nn Arti)
Astrid
Beatrice/Bea
Inez
Tabitha
Thea (as a stand alone name)
Delphine instead of Delphi

mathanxiety · 19/09/2013 03:38

Edith/Edie - like a lot
Esme -- ok
Hester/Hettie -- very nice
Iris -- dislike
Polly -- dislike (parrot)
Sylvie -- love

I love Romy and Inez from your original list too.

mathanxiety · 19/09/2013 03:40

Elliott -- very nice
Ivor -- 'the engine'
James/Jamie -- nice but maybe a bit bland?
Miles -- nice
Remy -- love
Reuben -- love
Thomas -- like a lot and like Tom as nn
Theo -- nice
William -- nice but maybe a bit bland?

How about Thaddeus?

runninggirl85 · 19/09/2013 09:50

Love Delphi .. thats on my list if i have a girl .

x

elcranko · 19/09/2013 10:35

Love Beatrice, Iris, Polly and Theodora.

CruCru · 19/09/2013 14:53

I love Beatrice. Would you consider Delphine rather than Delphi? I think the latter may be mispronounced quite often (has a similar sound to Sophie).

MummyPig24 · 20/09/2013 07:45

Delphi, Inez or Thea

moobaloo · 20/09/2013 08:29

My favourites are:

Beatrice/Bea
Edith
Farrah
Hester/Hettie
Renee
Tabitha
Theodora/Thea/Teddy

top three probably Edith, Tabitha and Theodora as I love names with a 'th' in them (also Meredith, Elizabeth etc. :) )

NomDeClavier · 20/09/2013 09:13

Of your original list:

Astrid
Edith
Hester/Hettie - I love, love, love this
Iris
Kit/Kitty - not as a name on its own but I live it as a nickname
Sylvie
Tabitha
Theodora/Thea/Teddy

Iris is a beautiful name.

honeybeeridiculous · 20/09/2013 10:01

Hettie

neenienana · 20/09/2013 13:24

two of the names on my shortlist are here, Iris and Sylvie. I am also considering Nell. Of your boys names I like Reuben. Good luck!

nevergoogle · 20/09/2013 13:28

Iris and Sylvie are lovely aren't they, can imagine these names for sisters.

Edith

BettyBi0 · 25/09/2013 09:37

Hester or Iris are great

nevergoogle · 22/10/2013 11:49

Double drat. Having decided on Iris, DH and everybody else I've canvassed hates it.

pants.

DH likes Adelaide, Thalia, Hester.

Can anybody suggest some names we might like based on my and DH's list?

LadyGoneGaga · 22/10/2013 13:15

I have an Iris. She's beautiful! I also like Esme and Sylvie from your list. We can't have Sylvie though as DH used to have a cat called it. I think it's gorgeous though. But would also alliterate and my married name already alliterates so could be too much.

My current lead fave is Marnie.

How about Isla if everyone is vetoing Iris? (insane, wrong people!) Similar sort of sound but perhaps slightly softer.
