What are your thoughts on this girl's name?? We already have Aurelia Rose and Poppy Jessica, quite like 'unusual' names and also flower names? Baby due in just over a week and just can't decide! Btw, if it's a boy, we love Flynn.

burgatroyd - In my defence I didn't comment on the name! It's a bit unusual for me - I like traditional (or boring) names!

I do however love Greek mythology - Tealah is not a name I've ever come across.

Beatrice or Beatrix would go well with the other names - traditional but not crazy popular.

She's definitely had the child by nowGrin

Loxley - I suspect the name was created/adapted/modified by the writer of the book referred to by the poster above, as she suggests. Ancient Greek female names did not normally (or ever?) end in 'ah', even when written down using a modern romanized alphabet. The Greek for 'goddess' was Thea (pronounced in in some modern languages: 'Tay-ah'). Any connection, I wonder?

Disclaimer: It's a long time since I studied any Greek - other Mumsnetters will know much more than me...
