I keep seeing comments about names being 'trendy' and will 'date'. Apart from not really knowing what this means, I was hoping you could maybe please could you share the names 'trending' in your area.

We have a jack - infact he's the only Jack in his year group of 80 kids.
We knew it was popular when we named him and there were 4 during his nursery years.
There are more Jakes than Jacks at his school.

Where I am (North West England) there are lots of Jayden, Kayden, Brayden, Ava, Gracie, Isabella, Evie, Kane, Nevaeh and Cara's.

In addition to the usual Tilly/Milly/Evie/Edie/Ava thing I'm meeting a lot of baby Emse / Elodies at the moment. That makes me a bit sad. It's one thing to give your child an overused top 20 name (I did!) knowing it was popular but if you're desperately trying to be different and you get to playgroup and are astonished to find multiple Freya / Florence / whatevers then I think it's a shame.

If you want your kid to have something really unique, pick something from our generation... You literally never come across a baby Loiuse or a Steve these days!

I agree with Lexi(e) - am also in the Midlands! There also still seem to be a fair few Avas, Evas & Isabellas bobbing about.

Thanks mulranno there were less than 2 born in 2010 according to stats and its never been on the charts, so it's either a random occurrence (a case of copying perhaps?!) or they are all babies and its suddenly shot up in popularity in a couple of years. Very odd! But interesting.

I've only read thd first page, but Charlie is every other 16 year old too, so it's been around for a while.

I am in Germany and there are loads of Lillys and Amelies. Also Maya/Mayra (Mi-ra)
