I keep seeing comments about names being 'trendy' and will 'date'. Apart from not really knowing what this means, I was hoping you could maybe please could you share the names 'trending' in your area.

Many thanks.

ps) this is not a name bashing thread, just really interested as it would seem I like these names BlushWink

Oh and Merlin

NadiaWadia · 31/03/2013 05:20

Greythorne - that's interesting about popular names in France ATM. Completely different from here - except for Clementine which I think is also popular in UK? Pretty, as is Valentine. But Cappucine - isn't that a monkey or a monk or something? (Or a hot drink?)

Umanayana · 31/03/2013 07:47

I have a two year old Clara. Slightly miffed that is looks like it's going to become popular. The new Dr Who assistant won't help! I also have a 15 year old who's name was virtually unheard of when he was born. It's now very popular. My middle child has a name that is on the up too. Grrrrrr! I still love all their names though.

MoaneyMcmoanmoan · 31/03/2013 07:50

Jaxon.

Every girl is called either Ruby or Lily.

AThingInYourLife · 31/03/2013 08:21

Arlo, Cillian, Ethan

Haven't really noticed any trends with girls' names amongst people I know.

Throughgrittedteeth · 31/03/2013 08:34

My DS's name has I only been mentioned once on here but if he had been a girl he would have been Grace, which is soo popular round these parts (Cambridgeshire) also Lily, Isla, Harry.
YY to some up thread who said lots of mid-twenties girls with Louise as their middle name - it's like a special club among my friends Grin

farmersdaughter · 31/03/2013 15:23

Nursery was full of Isabelles and Evies, but Y1 class has none.

There are 20 girls in DD's class and all but 3 have a name that ends in a. The 3 that don't are all y/i.

The boys are called Riley, Dylan, William, James.

mulranno where abouts are you?! How many Antigones do you know? It's a name we considered, it's not even on the name stats for last year so is s very surprised if its risen so dramatically in a year!

Didn't know about bounty app, will check it out.
