That's it really. Sasha's full name would be Alexander.

I also like Wlliam but DH won't consider it!

Ooh, Reuben, Daniel, Max and Alexander are four of my absolute favourite names, but none made it onto our list because one is DH's name, one is my brother's, one is the name of a close friend's child and the remaining one DH didn't like! Don't like Ethan I'm afraid, and don't have strong feelings either way re Sasha as a nickname, but definitely see it as sufficiently masculine.

I'd go for Daniel or Max, personally. Daniel if pushed!

bringmeroses · 29/01/2013 13:34

Ethan.

Happysurprise · 29/01/2013 13:40

Rueben - Ben for short if he does warm to it for a more traditional name?

tomverlaine · 29/01/2013 13:45

Alexander
Max and Reuben seem really common at the moment

Artigene · 29/01/2013 14:21

I often hear MN say Reuben is very popular and daddy but the stats don't bare that out. In 2011 the Office if National Statistics counted:

4581 Ethans (plus 14 Ethens = 4685)

3928 Daniels (plus 309 Dannys and 23 Dans = 4260)

3043 Max's (plus 492 Maxwells, 328 Maximilians, 226 Maximuses, 100 Maximillians and 91 Maxims = 4280)

2819 Alexanders (plus 1,129 Alex, 25 Sachas and 13 Sashas = 3986)

941 Reubens (plus 43 Ruebens, 318 Ruben = 1302)

So basically Reuben is far and away the least popular name on our list. People who say its popular, do you actually know many or arr you just seeing the name a lot on baby name threads?

Sasha

MrsHBaby3 · 29/01/2013 15:08

Rueben wins by miles, and love Rue as nn, Sasha to me is a girls name, sorry

pinkandyellowbutterfly · 29/01/2013 20:28

DANIEL definately. An unbeatable name.

Alligatorpie · 29/01/2013 20:49

Funny all the people saying Sasha s a girls name. When I posted about Sasha for my unborn dd seven months ago, everyone said "it's a boys name!"

as I have a female Sasha, I would spell it Sacha. Love the name!

Also love Reuben

Alligatorpie · 29/01/2013 20:50

And Sasha Obama is really called Natasha.

oldebaglady · 29/01/2013 20:50

it is a boys name, I know that in my head so if you asked me which it was I'd say "boy", it just sounds like a girls name to me IYKWIM

Stixswhichtwizzle · 30/01/2013 23:46

Reuben is lovely

FriedSprout · 30/01/2013 23:53

Reuben, then Daniel, then Max. Sasha sound too feminine to me.

amazingmumof6 · 01/02/2013 12:42

Reuben

birdofthenorth · 02/02/2013 22:07

Reuben (Max a close second)

CruCru · 04/02/2013 13:02

Reuben.

chubbychipmonk · 04/02/2013 13:04

Daniel (my DS name) love it!

VinegarDrinker · 04/02/2013 13:07

Reuben or Ethan

MrsJohnDeere · 04/02/2013 13:10

Max

(Much prefer William though)

captainbarnacle · 04/02/2013 13:14

I know LOADS of Reuben's, under the age of 6. Really don't like that name now.

TenthMuse · 04/02/2013 13:33

Reuben, then Daniel.

googlyeyes · 04/02/2013 14:10

Definitely Reuben. It's gorgeous

For me, Sasha is too feminine. It's all very well saying it's considered a man's name in Russia etc but if you're living in the UK that's pretty irrelevant!

shoobidoo · 04/02/2013 14:37

I know a couple of male Sashas, all short for Alexander, and love the name!

Max, Daniel and Reuben are quite 'trendy' at the moment and Ethan I really don't like.
