What do you think of Ada?

Due with DD2 in a month. DD1 is Tabitha. We both love Ada but I have slight reservations because its so short - not sure why that's making me think twice. Middle name possibly Grace or Poppy...

Ada is lovely and I agree Ada Lovelace is a great heroine!

Squalorvictoria - hence your nickname! I'm trying to get over my National obsession, not doing very well so far!
If I ever have another child and its a girl I would like to call her Ada for the same reason.

Well spotted!

I would pronounce it Ay-Da.

It's on my name list now!

I love it. But then I love old lady names. My DD is a Tabitha :)

I really like it, I much prefer it to Ava. I think its simple but beautiful.
You could always go with Adeline if you wanted a longer full name. Tabitha & Adeline?

Ada is okay. It doesn't evoke particularly strong feelings either way with me.

I have also met a Turkish Ada who pronounced it Adder. For a long time I thought it was a different name! I prefer the Ae-der pronounciation personally.

By the way - I ended up calling my daughter Ada after seeing it here!

She's one today!
