Just as the title says. What do you think of Lois and Lana as siblings? TIA.

Lana? Inspired by the Immaculate Conception thread? Grin

TimrousBeastie · 10/11/2012 18:01

That someone is a fan of superman:)

cheesesarnie · 10/11/2012 18:02

Grin no just a crazed mner.

Roseformeplease · 10/11/2012 18:02

Try to avoid the same first initial - it means the post will get mixed up. Also, superman and Lana Turner. Too matching for me. Would choose Lara, rather than Lana (sounds less harsh). Don't really like Lois, either.

BOFisAlwaysUltra · 10/11/2012 18:02

Is this to name two girls/twins then, or just your final two favourites? Of the two, I love Lana. But Lois is nice too.

Sunnywithachanceofshowers · 10/11/2012 18:03

I immediately thought of Superman.

kaumana · 10/11/2012 18:04

Superman

Geargrinder · 10/11/2012 18:06

BOF Lana is my existing DD. second on the way. (yeses course, now that Lana has been slagged off I'm wishing I'd invited people to read the thread first! Wink But wanted to see how many people made the Lois Lane and Lana Lang link unprompted)

Thanks for loving Lana Smile

Oh yeah, just re-read the title, sorry. Yes, I like them, but I just think you'll drive yourself mad calling the wrong name. They'll both end up as LanaLoisYouKnowWhoIMean.

Geargrinder · 10/11/2012 18:09

I'd do that even if I named them A and B Grin

bryonywhisker · 10/11/2012 18:10

I thought of Lana Turner and Lois Lane. Had no idea that there was a Lana in Superman
Like them both and as a pair.

TheOriginalNutcracker · 10/11/2012 18:12

I think they are both lovely names, especially Lois. Not sure if i'd have them as sibling names though.

TidyDancer · 10/11/2012 18:12

My first thought was that they were the Playboy twins, but I don't think that's right....

I wouldn't use both names for siblings, although they are both actually very beautiful names.

ArthurandGeorge · 10/11/2012 18:13

Too matchy

LadyGuilty · 10/11/2012 18:15

Lana is too weak compared to ballsy Lois

motherinferior · 10/11/2012 18:16

I would think their parents ODd on superhero comics as kids.

crazynanna · 10/11/2012 18:21

Do you know, I have a Lois, and in 14 years of having a Lois, not one person has ever mentioned the Superman connection

But....she does always get called Louise.

fluffygal · 10/11/2012 18:25

Grin well OP we do have similar taste in names! I also had a dilemma with my 2nd DD's name as we really liked a name that is a bit similar to Lana (doesn't begin with L or have 4 letters but still similar). I ummed and aahed over it, it didn't bother DH at all and we went with it anyway. 2 years later I don't regret it. I also liked a name of a BIg brother contestant and didn't go with it for that reason but no one would make that connection now!

fluffygal · 10/11/2012 18:26

Ah when my dog Lois was in a dog contest they called her out as Louie! Dumb judges!

Frikadellen · 10/11/2012 18:27

I think oh nice names

Geargrinder · 10/11/2012 18:28

Loving the last two posts. My way of thinking is that the names existed before they were given to the characters, so we shouldn't let it affect our decision. fluffy we considered Clara but I thought that was more same-ish to Lana than Lois. Glad you stuck with your choice.

crazy that is a very cool fact indeed.

OP Lana is a great name (biased here!), I don't know about you but I always get compliments on her name. But Not everyone is going to like the same names, if we all did it would be boring.

Yika · 10/11/2012 18:31

Both absolutely lovely names, and a lovely combination. Slightly retro feel without getting into granny chic.

Geargrinder · 10/11/2012 18:32

Exactly!

Old older gentleman stopped my husband recently to ask where we got the name Lana from. He was a huge fan of Lana Turner and thought we were too young to have chosen "such a beautiful classic" Grin
