Just as the title says. What do you think of Lois and Lana as siblings? TIA.

I really like the name Lois. It was on the short list for if ds1 was a girl. I wouldn't use it with Lana though, just because of the superman thing.

zxcv123 · 10/11/2012 16:33

The only thing I'd think is that the parents obviously liked 4 letter names beginning with L.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 10/11/2012 16:34

Makes me think of a couple of country and western singers, not sure why.

I love Lois though.

Geargrinder · 10/11/2012 16:35

I like you fluffy Grin

Superman. With feeling sorry for Lana!

Geargrinder · 10/11/2012 16:39

Feeling sorry for Lana? Sorry, confused, it's me who's confused now.

Don't do it. Apart from the Superman thing, Lois is quite a Sunday School ish name with a little edge to it whereas Lana is more Hollywood so imo they are names with different feels to them.

I know sisters names Elizabeth and Taylor.

VinoEsmeralda · 10/11/2012 16:42

Lois lane

Also as they both start with 'l' people will mix, confuse the names IMO

cheesesarnie · 10/11/2012 17:40

ignore everyone. i love them so do it Grin

Geranium3 · 10/11/2012 17:40

sorry don't like either of them and sound common and naff together and too americany!

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 10/11/2012 17:41

Too similar.

stargirl1701 · 10/11/2012 17:41

Superman.

OwedToAutumn · 10/11/2012 17:45

I always wanted to call my DD Pheobe, was worried people would associate it with Friends. But now, no one would think of that, and I gave wasted my chances to use my favourite name. Sad

So, I say go for it!

Just a little naff for being a bit samey but nice names and unusual.

Ephiny · 10/11/2012 17:49

Superman/Lois Lane. Sorry.

Also I think Lana is a nice name, but not keen on Lois personally, it's a bit old-fashioned and frumpy. You might want to give them different initials as well.

DinosaursOnASpaceship · 10/11/2012 17:49

Superman

BOFisAlwaysUltra · 10/11/2012 17:52

Reminds me of my dogs Pepper and Pickle. You'll forever be mixing them up. Both names nice though.

Geargrinder · 10/11/2012 17:56

cheesesarnie do I know you? Smile

I got over the same initial thing a loooong time ago in this battle. For same-ish you want my husband's latest suggestion: layla and Lana. Hmm

I'm surprised about Lois being seen as boring/Sunday school-ish, it's not at all what it conjures up in my mind.

Have tried hunting old Hollywood to get something else to go with Lana, but nothing else we agree on. Thanks for the replies.

Lois Lane of course!

VivaLeBeaver · 10/11/2012 17:58

Superman

cheesesarnie · 10/11/2012 17:58

umm don't think so but i love those two names Grin. i know a louis but not a lana so it's unlikely that we know each other!

Geargrinder · 10/11/2012 17:58

Thanks Bof. I already mix up the dogs' and child's names on a regular basis and they're all very different. I'll speak to whichever will respond. Blush

cheese I thought you might be someone I'd talked to about this away from here backing me up. Good to know there is impartial support for our likely choice! Grin
