I think there are probably no baby girls called:
Andrea
Lisa
Joanne
Thelma
Michelle
Kelly
Amanda
Tracy
Karen
Tina
Wendy

If we want to be post modern we should start a revolition no names ending in 'ia' or double barrelled with Mae on the end.

I'm Laura. Some names never go out of fashion Grin

MulberryMoon · 22/07/2012 17:10

I know a baby Richard. Named after a family member though.

I don't think Sarah will ever be unpopular.
How about
Deirdre and Paula.

Lorna too

Edna and Aubrey

Mabel is definitely coming back, at least in the US. Bruce Willis's new baby is named Mabel. I've heard of other Mabels recently. There's a fashion for 1920s names at the moment. Pearl, etc.

And I quite like Ivy as a name. Cute, not too flowery, simple, unusual.

I think the 'K' names of the 80s are very out. Kimberly/ Kristen/ Kelly, etc.

Aubrey is very popular in the US. Definitely top 100! I'm a Laura and hated my name, had at least one other in my class all through school.

I'm a Julie (in my 40's) and my DD1's first and second names were listed as was DD2's second name. So I'm either ahead of the trend or really far behind it Grin Both second names were "family" names.

When I was growing up I didn't like my name as my sisters all had long (3 or 4 syllable) names as did my friends at school. I wanted a long name. I think I've grown into it now Smile I also have a cousin on each side of the family with the same name. Obviously my parent's generation didn't agonise over naming their offspring as much as us modern mum's Wink

shockers I have a 17 month old Kathleen. (Though she is known as Kitty most of the time)

MulberryMoon · 27/07/2012 10:38

Sheila, Joyce, Maureen

Late to this thread I know but I think there's only a couple of hundred Tiffanys older than me. It was so uncommon when I was born that people either thought my mum had said Stephanie or thought she'd said Timothy (even though I was dressed in pink Grin). I get sooooooo pissed off when people refer to Eastenders, as I never watch it.
