I think there are probably no baby girls called:
Andrea
Lisa
Joanne
Thelma
Michelle
Kelly
Amanda
Tracy
Karen
Tina
Wendy

If we want to be post modern we should start a revolition no names ending in 'ia' or double barrelled with Mae on the end.

At the high school I work at their are many many girls who's names end in y/ae/ia and they are all now stroppy, sulky teenagers. I often wonder if their parents ever thought of them being teenagers or women when they have them the names, but I suppose It's the sane with any child!

Ilovedaintynuts · 15/07/2012 20:39

I held a little new born Kelly last week. Not a British couple though. They are Portuguese immigrants who think the name is lovely and unusual.

My DDs are teenagers and pre-teen now and we named them on the first crest of the wave of the current popular names. All three girl's names were only just in the top 80 when they were born - now 15 years later 2 are in the top five.

I think I should have gone for Carol, Julie and Linda.
