Irish/Gaelic boy names

Any suggestions ladies most welcome, it seems so much easier to agree on girls names. But we're a bit stuck on the boys....
So far we've listed eoghan and aiden

Darragh. We are considering this.

I prefer the spelling eoin. Also live senan, Oisin, Sean, Conor and there's Seamus, padraig, ciaran, cian, Liam, finian, daithi...can't think of more but there are loads I'm missing!!!

I have a Sean and a Kieran (not the Irish spelling for K but there you go!). I love Irish names, would have had a Lorcan or Finian if hubby could have been persuaded for DS3. Hope you find a lovely name!

Farley, how do you pronounce the second and fourth names on your list. I can't do fadas on my phone but I've never seen fionn with a fada or daragh\darragh\dara spelled like that, is that what they are?

Also not sure on some of vol's names. Reece? Possibly Welsh but not Irish.

It should be Fionn, Daithí, Darragh - Dara - Daire

I think those were rogue fadas that found their way!

ADORE those names, though sadly not a hint of irish anywhere to justify using them.

I really love, Se (with a fada over the e) but can imagine it would be a bit of a pain to spell out/pronounce all of the time.

So is Daithi pronounced the same as Darragh? It's the one out of all of these which I wouldn't have a clue how to pronounce!

no, daithi is dah-ee and is linked to David.

Think the 'do' sound in dot followed by hee. Do-hee.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD (not sorry for shouting) do not give your child a name you don't even know how to pronounce.
I have an Irish name (born and bred in Ireland) and I have had to spell it/listen to crap jokes about how people don't know how to pronounce it EVERY SINGLE DAY for the past 5.5 years since I moved to the UK.
It is a pain in the backside and it is starting to make me hate my name.
I'm all on for Irish names and will be giving my children Irish names but they will be ones that can be pronounced & spelt by the majority of people that they'll meet.
Of course, if you live in Ireland feel free to pick Aodhánn or Fiontann, but if you're in the UK, please go for something like Conor or C/Killian.

Wow lots there, we're in the UK but all the English names we come up with sound ridiculous with DH's very irish surname! I agree something pronounceable is good, still loving Eoghan, the spelling Eoin is appealing, maybe easier for school purposes etc

I have a Ciar rather than Ciaran and i know a little boy Se too :)
