Tell me, would I be crazy?

2cats2many · 07/06/2011 20:40

It's ok. I can see it working.

Karbea · 07/06/2011 20:41

It's a game isn't it?

Iggly · 07/06/2011 20:51

Girl or boy?

Are you sure?
What about monopoly or cluedo Wink

MeantToStopAtTwo · 07/06/2011 20:54

Yes, a game but also a boy's name. Is it so unusual that people genuinely haven't heard it?

Ludovic I like it alot

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 07/06/2011 21:03

As short for Ludovic, I've heard of it. Reminds me of Ludovic Kennedy, the broadcaster chappie. Not to my taste, but if you like it, what the heck...

MaryBS · 07/06/2011 21:04

I've heard of it as a name, but wouldn't use it, because its more commonly used to describe the board game.

smartyparts · 07/06/2011 21:05

I think it's a very posho shortening of Ludovic, but I like it.

I also know a lovely dog called Ludo

MeantToStopAtTwo · 07/06/2011 21:10

I know of two - one well-known in the theatre world and the other a city high-flier with aristocratic connections.

It is perhaps a name better reserved for animals however.

Ludovic Kennedy used to come in the pub where I worked as a youngster. He was v nice. I like ludo

poppydaisy · 07/06/2011 21:29

I know a Ludovic, nickname Ludo. Lovely name imo.

SoupDragon · 07/06/2011 21:33

Ludo?

kitsmummy · 07/06/2011 21:36

Ben Fogle has a Ludo, I quite like it

Mollydoggerson · 07/06/2011 21:37

I like it, similar to Bruno, very strong name.

FakePlasticTrees · 07/06/2011 21:39

I know a Ludo, he's lovely. And married to someone lovely. And has a very successful (and well paid) career.

Popbiscuit · 07/06/2011 21:43

I think Rachel Johnson has a son called Ludo?

UndiscoveredApprentice · 07/06/2011 21:44

I like Ludovic, and ludo is nice for short, but don't think it is like Bruno at all, I think that is a cartoon like name.

Ludovic is very posh, in my opinion.

MeantToStopAtTwo · 07/06/2011 21:49

I wonder if we're thinking of the same one FakePlasticTrees, as there don't seem to many of 'em about. Last name starting with S?

As lond as it is short for Ludovic I like it as a nickname. Seems a bit odd if it is the name in itself though.

puffling · 07/06/2011 21:52

A bit posh plus if you've heard of Toby Young and you find him to be an irritant, he has offspring with that name.

needanothacuppa · 07/06/2011 21:54

Ludo? That's a board game!
Either that or it reminds me of Margaret Thatcher patronising Ludovic Kennedy on newsnight 'You know, Ludo...' or was that a spitting image sketch?

Either way Hmm

Don't forget that even if you think a name is fab, your kid will have to live with it for the rest of his life, that reality check did bring me back down to earth on a few occasions when we were searching for baby names!!! Wink

Makes me think of the big orange creature who can call the rocks in Labyrinth... he was nice. :)

squeak2392 · 07/06/2011 22:43

I like Ludovic, but Ludo just makes me think of the game.

valiumbandwitch · 08/06/2011 00:01

I like it! buuuuuut, perhaps it's just me, but names ending in o are starting to sound a tiny bit .... done. That particular trend seems to have been around a decadenow. So for that reason, go for ludovic or ludwig on the bc
