Monroe's not bad, but poor boy having two nationalities for a name!

Harlow is to close to Harlot for me.

I've read somewhere today that Moroccan is named after the Moroccan-themed bedroom in their house where Mariah's husband proposed (thank god he didn't propose in the toilet or kitchen) - and that he's to be known as Roc. Whatever the reasons for the names, I still don't like either - a form of child abuse IMO .

Jesus Emma it gets worse! Imagine telling people you were named after your parents bedroom wallpaper.

And another thing (!) why do people like Mariah and Nicole Ritchie name their children after the surname of someone they admire? Why not Marilyn or Jean? Are there any other examples of this?

Giving your son an adjective for a name? Fluffy would have been better.

Plus when the thought was that Moroccan was the name of the building, it made me think of all the kids who would be called Semi-Detached.

Agree that Monroe sounds OK by comparison. They may well end up being Roe and Roc or something else that sounds like a short-lived 90s dance act.

Moroccan is utterly stupid. fancy saddling your child with such a crap name, its cruel IMO. The ony saving grace is that he can just use Scott.

I'm sure having multi-millionaire parents will help soften the blow for them of having such strange names...

I STILL wish I'd given my twins names beginning with the same sound. Poor things get called 'Wiss' and 'Woo', so 'Roe' and 'Rock' aren't bad really.

I know a baby named Harlow. The parents aren't English. I was born in Harlow, and wish the place the very best, but honestly really it isn't somewhere you would generally wish to commemorate in a child's name.

Apparently the little girl is named after Marilyn Monroe, so why not just chose Marilyn?

As for the boy being named after Mariah's favourite decor - words fail me. I suppose it's better than "Stencil" or "Limewash"
