I thought it seemed pretty and not too popular or unusual?

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 17/09/2010 20:41

Makes me think of a large ostrich like bird.

thisisyesterday · 17/09/2010 20:41

I went to school with a Rhea

I have to admit it does make me think of diarrhoea though

Mum72 · 17/09/2010 20:42

Not keen myself. I had a neighbour who named thier DD Rhea and my very first thoughts were exactly as geordieminx has described.

Sorry.

lucysmum · 17/09/2010 20:42

My 1st thought was Gonorrhoea. Sorry.

Mum72 · 17/09/2010 20:43

oops posted twice!! Sorry I am sure you heard me the first time!

TessOfTheBurbs · 17/09/2010 20:47

It sounds exactly like "rear" in most English accents. Rear end was my first thought. Sorry.

mathanxiety · 17/09/2010 20:48

Is it too late to say I like it? I don't have an English accent though.

I like Rita too.

ArghMyEyesMyEyes · 17/09/2010 20:48

No. No, I don't like it at all.

Sorry.

babysoon1 · 17/09/2010 20:53

is it better spelt Ria?
really surprised about comments - I thought people would love it

LowLevelWhiinging · 17/09/2010 20:55

Yep, too pooey.

Marrow · 17/09/2010 20:56

I love it and have a friend called Rhea. However, she says that her life was made a misery at school as she was called Diarrhoea

nigglewiggle · 17/09/2010 20:56

I like it, but I do prefer Ria as the spelling.

FiveOrangePips · 17/09/2010 21:02

Rhea is the image I get.

babysoon1 · 17/09/2010 21:08

oh no! I'm really gutted - really thought we were sorted on girls name. . .now you're all making me question it. I just thought Ria was lovely.

Ria is nicer (like the mum in Butterflies...oh how I loved that programme [nostalgic emoticon]Grin

but rhea is definitely an ostrich I'm afrid

RunLyraRun · 17/09/2010 21:15

Slightly smaller than an ostrich? Same lovely eyelashes though.

spiderlight · 17/09/2010 21:17

Dredging up a very old memory, wasn't there a whole thing about the name of the character in Butterflies because the mother had decided on Ria and the father, who'd gone to register her, was a keen ornithologist?

RunLyraRun · 17/09/2010 21:18

aww it's sweet
