Hello, the old thread fizzled out after christmas, so here is a brand spanking new one.

You don't have to be at all particularly talented just enthusiastic

I'm in!

MitsubishiWarrioress · 29/03/2010 13:36

Can I say hello?...

JackRabbitBauer · 29/03/2010 13:36

It did a bit didn't it?

Hello, how are you? I have a lovely long list of to do's shall I start?

Secret stuff for MN knit swap thing - nearly finished, honest!
Project bag for big sis, not even started, and I am seeing her this weekend, and it is 5 weeks late already.
bag for friend for her newborn, hahahahaha, the 'newborn' is now 14 weeks.
Crochet ami's for school fair, ongoing

I really need to get my sewing mojo back, I am ok with crochet, can't put it down, btu the sewing involves getting out teh fabric and then the machine onto the table, whici means the table has to be cleared, and then rethreading it, plugging it in, stopping DD's playing with the footpedal and pinning and sewing and pressing...oh god, I can't!

Stuck in most PM#s this week before I go to my mums for easter though, and I can crochet to my hearts content there, so I MUST DO SOME SEWING.

Alicetheinvisible · 29/03/2010 13:42

Hello!

I am the same Jack. I keep thinking i want to do some sewing, but the effort involved of getting out machine, finding fabric etc is putting me off.

Quite keen on doing some felt stuff though. A little girl at our playgroup has some lovely hair elastics with huge felt flowers on which i thought would be quite easy to do and would help get back in the swing of things.

Do you know i got an adjustable dress form for my birthday (in september) and have never used it? i want to, but lacking inspiration.

JackRabbitBauer · 29/03/2010 13:51

Alice, you need Angry Chicken
They come out soo cute! (and much easier than hairbands)

that's shameful about your dress form, but I can sympathise.
I have to nitcomb the littlies later so am going to bath them, stick on a dvd, and go for it, hopefully I can get soemthign done while they veg off the combined effect orf playgroup, shit food and free easter eggs as we left.

JackRabbitBauer · 29/03/2010 13:59

Come on, need more to do lists! Mine is nice and short as I refuse to add anything else until it is cleared.

NO I won't. Not even a cute pillowcase style dress for DD's for easter (haha, as if it would get finished by then!)

Alicetheinvisible · 29/03/2010 14:05

Hi Mitts, are you joining us?

Jack - those are cute, pillowcase dress? Link please?

OP posts:
JackRabbitBauer · 29/03/2010 14:17

wasting, Mits, come back and say hello properly!

Loads of destructions for pillow case dresses online, here's one
Very fast, pillowcase, elastic, bias binding for ties, done.
Look super cute over a long sleeved tshirt and tights as well!

wastingaway · 29/03/2010 14:24

Those barrettes are very cute.

I am currently knitting some very simple wrist-warmers in grey merino.

Here's the shameful truth -
I never actually finished the jumper I was knitting for a christmas present. The sleeves didn't fit and I lost heart with it.
Plus the Paint by Numbers I started in October.

I've just decluttered and sorted through my craft stuff and found some very old UFOs.

Plus I got the Stitch and Bitch Happy Hooker crochet book last week.

Therefore I have plenty to do.

Alice, how about a maternity top/dress?

Alicetheinvisible · 29/03/2010 14:24

Ooh, thanks, DD needs some pure cotton clothes to wear while her eczema is bad and when looking for pure cotton nighties they were all victorian frill and £30 each. These would be perfect.

OP posts:
Alicetheinvisible · 29/03/2010 14:25

Hmm, maybe the same concept for a maternity top?

OP posts:
JackRabbitBauer · 29/03/2010 14:30

A pillowsingleduvetcase dress

JackRabbitBauer · 29/03/2010 14:30

I love them, I have some fabric that just needs sewing in a tube and then the edging doing, veyr easy and adjustable as a dress for DD2 or a tunic for DD1, perfect.

Alicetheinvisible · 29/03/2010 14:39

What are you trying to say?

OP posts:
JackRabbitBauer · 29/03/2010 16:13
Grin
Pheebe · 29/03/2010 17:34

Hello all

Here's my todo list for what its worth:

Finish crocheting a hat for friends daughter
Make a crocheted hat for DS1
Finish the latch hook rug for DS2
Finish making mums mothers day scarf
Start on sisters crocheted wrap/shawl
Start on clothes, scarves, toys etc for a craft fair I'm doing in June

work just keeps getting in the way

Plans for this also include:
Make DS1 a football latch hook rug
Get sewing area set up (lucky enough to have a spare box room) so I can get my sewing machine out which hasn't seen the light of day for about 6 years (pre-ds1 !)
Make something for myself!

Glad this thread has started

MitsubishiWarrioress · 29/03/2010 18:39

Hi.. I am Mitts, happiest when I have the time to be creating things. Painting, sewing, cards, knitting...

Projects on the go..

Series of cards for a shop,

Turning a sort of cartoon character I came up with (Mou) into a soft knitted 'toy'. My DD loves her.

I want to make a French Knitted wall hanging for my Mum's birthday (July) as it is something we did together when I was little.

Paintings...

Ongoing project of a knitted/crochet throw, coloured squares crocheted around in black.

I just need time to keep up with myself now!

I'd love to do a hooked rug Pheebe, but will try to stick to the projects I have ongoing for now.

I have the material set aside for a patchwork floor cushion.....

JackRabbitBauer · 29/03/2010 20:13

Very nice lists makes me feel better

I am having a major tanrum. I am making a granny square rainbow baby blanket so need 7 small squares of each 7 colours, and I CAN'T FIND MY GREEN!!!! I know it is in the hosue somehwree, a nice new ball, but can I find it? NO!

And there was only enough yellow to make 6 squares so I have to frog a finished flower to get enough yellow back out to finish that.
Oh and don't talk to me about the lilac, 5 squares and it has gone. GRRRRR>

Pheebe · 29/03/2010 20:14

Hi mitts

I also nearly forgot my MNKnitathon project...but I have til September for that one

Pheebe · 29/03/2010 20:16

and breathe jack...eyes closed and ask the yarn fairies to hand it back, works every time for me, that and looking under ds1s pillow

JackRabbitBauer · 29/03/2010 20:18

I've threatened the bloody yanr fairies with a garroting, still nothing! And the whole reason I chose to do this is that I knew I had enough odds and ends, humph.

It is quite embarassing though, I have searched all my yarn stash hiding places, I forgot how many there were

MitsubishiWarrioress · 29/03/2010 20:28

I inherited a huge amount of wool from my aunt, I really need to get focussed on things to use it. I could do with being cloned with an Octopus really, so many ideas, and never enough time..

JackRabbitBauer · 29/03/2010 20:36

INHERITED WOOL!!!!!

mITS, i FUCKING lovE YOU! (oops)

It was in a black bag that a friend gave me after she cleared out her aunts house! which I had 'put away' in my wardrobe on my fabric stash

I have green! I am happy! Now for the fucking lilac.

Alicetheinvisible · 29/03/2010 21:17

Hopefully will brush the dust off my sewing machine tomorrow evening if i can get DD in bed early enough. want to have a go at those pillowcase dresses (something easy to get back into the swing of things)

Shouting and swearing is half the fun of crafting.
