oops . . .
.. will leave a random weird message.

meridian · 06/06/2008 15:12

dingle- very of your craft room... I would agree with misty about Ikea... you could also try home bargins or something like that as they sometimes have good little storage bits... not sure where else

vInTaGeVioLeT · 06/06/2008 17:55

yep - i'll agree about ikea they do some great cheap storage jars - in fact that's what my tea sugar biscuits flour are in!
wow what a tidy work space - mine is a total dump!!

misty - i've found 2 really nice buttons so far [mother of pearl] still searching for some more!!

Dingle · 06/06/2008 18:08

hmm..yes vintage, but the question is how long will it stay like that? LOL.I do hope that everything will eventually have a place to go and that a bit of organisation will creep into my life...AND STAY!

Now I know why I stick to duvet covers - as this creative business is so challenging!!

After months of sketches, I bit the bullet and made a prototype of a new doll. My fabric interpretation of a Kokeshi doll

Her face proportions are not right - I think I'll have to raise her neckline up - not bring her hair down!!

Please be gentle with your comments - she's here

mistypeaks · 06/06/2008 20:03

Ooh thanks Vintage. Getting excited!!
Dingle - I sorted my craft area out and had boxes etc for everything. Then it all went wrong when I took bits and pieces out to do a project and never quite put them back .

dizzy- she is lovely, I think you are right about rasing her neck up/shortening her face... but its lovely... I love those little dolls.. probably why I have painted and sketched quite a few... well none recently but they are very sweet... the fabric is lovely, and I love the little button flower in her hair.

I may have to do some more sketching and painting..

Nbg · 07/06/2008 08:34

Dizzy, she is lovely!
I like the fabric you have used on her.

Meri, lovely pictures again. Do they take you long to do?
My parents are giving dd some of their strawberry plants. She keeps nagging about wanting to pick her own but I think she may be a little disappointed when she sees how many are actually on the plant

Oh and btw, I would like to see some chocolate muffins next
Theres something quite satisfying about seeing chocolate melt in a hot muffin

Dingle at your craft room.
Its not fair! I want one!

Ive blogged my latest bits. Well the comissions that is.

meridian · 07/06/2008 09:04

NBG- lol... well actually speaking of chocolate I did make brownies last night, with cocoa and with green and blacks dark chocolate... and I slightly under cooked them so they were extra gooie... DH's favourite... well actually he would probably prefer to just eat all the batter with a spoon..might blog them later they taste great but are a slight bit umm... fugly.

not sure how long each little painting takes, it really depends on the detail...then waiting for it to dry and going back with a pen to add a few more details... depends on how inspired I am and how well the painting is going.

Doll looks lovely! love the polkadots!

Nbg · 07/06/2008 10:36

Oooh put them on please!
Gooey muffins, oooh with a bit of extra thick double cream just to ensure a heart attack

Morning, have been avoiding this thread, my crafting mojo has up and left (and my doll needs hair!!!).

We went to the strawberry fair yesterday and had a great day, the sun didn't shine but it didn't rain either. Am pondering whether to do the knit in public day next week.

ooooo hello girls!
I haven't been on here for AGES! After DD was born (8 weeks ago, 4 weeks early) i decided to award myself a long Baby-moon period and its been lovely! however - do you all remember the vintage swap? I signed up for it when I had 5 weeks till my due date - then was promptly admitted to hospital! so poor GreebosWhiskers never got a vintage swap - but i have enlisted MIL help and got a little something for her - better late than never! I just have to post it to her then i can blog for the first time since DD was born. i am going to read all the blog entries i can this week and catch up a bit.
lots of love,
jbr

meridian · 08/06/2008 12:48

ranting--- I hate when that happens... I find that I sually go round robin on things.. I will be mad obsessed with something, then drop it like a stone and either do nothing for ages or be destracted but something else... normally reading loads of books.. or having mad episodes of baking...probably why I'm so round.. sigh

Jackblackroady- welcome back... how is your DD?

have got no crafting done today.. though played with DS in garden, and done a bit of gardening too... I'm shattered now... and for reasons' known only to DS he dosent want to go out anywhere or do anything but mess about in the garden and in the house...

vInTaGeVioLeT · 08/06/2008 12:50

hey JBR - how lovely to "see" you!!
hope everything is good with baby and you're enjoying your gorgeous little girl x

Nbg · 08/06/2008 14:30

Hi JBR!
I have to say that the first picture you put on of your dd is absolutely gorgeous.

Actually, where is Greebo? She hasnt posted for ages.

I've done no crafting either. My BIL and SIL turned up last night and treated me and dh to a chinese and they didnt leave till 10pm so I got naff all done.

I've got a real panic on though. I still need to finish one little thing to go with my toadstool for the swap, make a book cover for my dad for fathers day, make a start on the russian doll swap, finish the 3 commision dolls and make 3 dresses to go with them!

Anyone got a few extra hours they can throw my way?!!!

Miaou · 08/06/2008 14:59

Oooh I have no time to catch up on the thread - so sorry! Will read later I hope. I have been computerless for two days (did you miss me? No???? ) and have got a lot done but now have all my emails and blog stuff to catch up on!

I got my toadstool swap - here - isn't it gorgeous? I finally worked out why mine weren't standing up - lets just say I had made them in a rush and not followed the instructions properly - my last attempt is MUCH better but needs embellishments so is not finished yet, must get on with it soon!

My ballgown is coming on apace (well, not mine, but YKWIM - I have made and fitted the bodice, and started on the skirt. Georgette is a sod to sew, but it's worth it for the end result, it will look great. The girl I am making it for was practically hopping with excitement, she was so pleased with it, so that's nice!

Off to the wedding on Thursday, please God don't let me forget anything (like my outfit ), fingers crossed for nice weather! Dh is going in Jacobean highland dress, mmmm! Like this very cool!

Actually I do love all those pieces but I am not a dangly earrings person so I probably wouldn't wear the earrings but they are nice, Dior.
And I am always honest, honest!
