And here's yet another thread. Blimey we can chat!!!! I've been in London the past couple of days, looking forward to catching up on everything....

OP posts:
Whizzz · 04/06/2008 17:04

I just wanted to post somewhere AAAAARRGGGHHHH!!!!!

had a cr*p day at school (ridiculous job profiles), came home to find the bloke behind us has got men in to replace the fence - we knew it was sometime but they hadn't said today. 2 blokes have trampled all over my plants (I know it wasn't up to Chealsea Flower Show standards, but I quite liked it) including ripping down my honeysuckle which had just started to flower & chopping it off at the base.
And I feel as thought I am hitting my head against a brick wall with the course I am doing (in my own time!)

................breathes out........feel better now !

mistypeaks · 04/06/2008 17:06

for you. If they'd trampled on my honeysuckle (I spent the best part of last year rescuing it - it was neglected and sad when we moved here) I would be trampling on there heads!!
Courses all have their ups and downs. I just wish I had the time/money/brain cell to do one again.
Go have a cup of tea and a choccy biccy.

mistypeaks · 04/06/2008 17:07

What course are you doing anyway?

Whizzz · 04/06/2008 17:23

I'm doing a distance learning dyslexia course. My honesysuckle was two cuttings my mum gave me a couple of years ago & it had just started to get established.

Nbg · 04/06/2008 20:02

Whizzz you want to be getting them to pay for the damage they have caused.
No wonder your cross.

meridian · 04/06/2008 20:10

Whizzz- I'm sorry you are having a crap day... sorry about the plants too... when they did our fence last summer the fence guys ripped out and totally destroyed my best rose bush.. not that I'm a big gardener, but it was a healthy rose and had that almost lemony rose scent... it was beautiful... I just wasn't quick enough to dig it out first...

no crafting done today... aside from a small bit of sketching...

alot to do tommorow and friday though... I have been putting off uploading anything to etsy for awhile now so I need to get my ass into gear.... I thought about putting my little painted pages up for sale.. but I don't know at what price and am stuch dithering about it...if its a good idea.. if they are good enough, ect ect...

Whizzz · 04/06/2008 20:20

Thing is, as far as I am aware, the guy who arranged the fence replacemement (it borders our garden & 2 more neighbours) expects us to contribute to the cost too & he arranged it all without agreeing with us how much!

oh Whizzz - how annoying for you

ouch my toes. . . only joking dior - there's no way i could do 60 cards atm {ever} i have a very short attention span and like to make something new everytime!Plus i have about one square inch of worktable clear the rest is covered in felt, buttons, inkpads and packaging!!!!

thanks for nice comments about toadstools i love them BUT today i've had a break from them!! i'm posting out my swap tomorrow - busy busy today.

whoopsididitagain · 05/06/2008 00:08

lol whoops will sort it

whoopsididitagain · 05/06/2008 00:08

lol whoops will sort it

whoopsididitagain · 05/06/2008 00:20

sorted !!!!!

mistypeaks · 05/06/2008 07:51

Thats a cute doll whoops and your dd certainly seems to love her!!
Dior - you're turning into the crafters equivelant of Alan Sugar here!! Busy lady.
VV - I'm very of your whole square inch of space!! I currently have to put up with a corner of the bed!!
Meri - put a couple of the pages on etsy. I think they're lovely. Can't help you with pricing though - I'm useless at that.

jeangenie · 05/06/2008 09:35

I made two pincushions last night and finished off the top of the little quilt I am aiming to have finished for DDs birthday in 9 days time...woo hoo

enjoyed making those pincushions too, just what I need, another thing I enjoy making...

I need to make a needlebook today

can you wander over to this thread please and give me any ace suggestions please. Especially if you can think of somewhere I can get a cute but not girly sewing box/basket. I can't bring myself to pay £40 for the cath kidston house but everything else I've seen doesn't really fit the bill...

lucykate · 05/06/2008 09:43

jg, this sewing kit is nice, very retro looking, have seen it mentioned on quite a few craft blogs!

right, i am home alone until 3.30, dd at school, ds at nursery. i have chocolate croissants in the oven warming then i need to get down to business!. today's to do list is...

photograph stuff for etsy and get it listed
start toadstool for swap
work on some stuff for a magazine submission
sort out all my receipts before i loose some of them!
catch up on blogging, i daren't look how many unread posts are on bloglines

meridian · 05/06/2008 10:02

erm haven't done any crafting yet... but I did make some blueberry muffins

DS is home and being a slight pest today so will take him for a picnic or something to keep him occupied for the day... then will expiriment with doing a write up for the painted pages to add one or two to my etsy shop... everthing else will have to wait till tommorow.

Nbg · 05/06/2008 10:39

Whizzz, I hope you sort it out. That neighbour sounds erm, rather annoying

JG, I have seen some on Etsy I think.
In fact I was looking at some little suitcase ones.
They were lovely.

Dior, I'm glad you've managed to help her out.
I think she needed it sorted asap really as she's booking the christening for August.
Think I'll have to buy a new dress

Today I must must must try and finish at least 2 dolls. They are all cut out but I need to embroider 2 of the faces and use buttons for the other 2.
Then I need to make one little tiny thing for my toadstool swap. The actual toadstool is done and one other little thing, but that little thing needs a little thing to go with it

Oh a quickie, had a friend round for catch up and got to get my lunch ready before work.

Dior and Whizzz, guess what I got in the post this morning. They are both gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous, only trouble is, I shall have to pick which one to wear in the morning. Will Eenny minie miney mo work do you think? And then I'll have to wear the other the day after. Choices, choices, my friend was here when they were delivered and she was very impressed, not to say a little envious.

ranting · 05/06/2008 11:07

Thank you both.

Dingle · 05/06/2008 11:24

Hello everyone, remember me? I use to do the occasional bit of crafting, but life just keeps getting in the way.

Just popped in to say a quick hello, I am trying so hard to make even a little time for me and I need such a boost/kick up the backside at the moment.

Whizzz I know this is out of the blue, but do you think your DS would be up for having my DS as a penpal again? I am hoping a few years later, this might actually work. I am really struggling to find quality time with DS and we are really struggling. I just thought it would be something he could get envolved in! No problems, either way- just an idea- or more like clutching at straws!
