Yes that's fine, I know you're a busy lady. I sent you an email too because I'm size challenged in the wrist dept, don't worry I haven't sent you my vital stats or anything like that

lucykate · 29/05/2008 20:51

ok, everyone ignore gm, she's got a new sewing machine...

and it's a bernina

Gingermonkey · 30/05/2008 10:26

HA - I heard that, LK!!!!

I am going to have a swap on my blog - a russian doll one, if any of you fancy it - all of you, it's russian doll inspired, so you don't need to be able to sew, knit or crochet - you can paint or whatever. Roll up roll up (please, don't make me look like a billy no mates and get no sign ups, I'd be devastated!)

LK - I tried out a load of different machines, and the activa 240 (twas pricey - just shy of 700 quid, OUCH) was amazing. The lady said I was better getting one of them as a top of the range activa rather than a lower end aurora (which was more). They are quite small too, and portable, for when you go travelling with your sewing machine (like that ever happens )

did you get the free walking foot with it?, i've seen that offer online, the walking foot alone is about £50!

thats the machine i've got my eye on, i know its a lot of dosh but for me, its an investment, worried if i go for a lesser one, i'll outgrow it too quickly iyswim, false economy!

meridian · 30/05/2008 10:43

gm- I have signed up for your russian doll swap! .. oh and will sort out getting your giveaway package in the post today... the house is pretty tidy with showing people around... though the guy yesterday said our house was "too nice to be a rental" .. though strangely enough he popped by again a few minutes ago to say he wants to show it to his buisness partner... we want to sell quick so we can get the house we want and put an offer on... busy busy

meridian · 30/05/2008 11:39

have just had a bit of a freakout

oh and blogged the things i sent to my vintage swap partner.. which she should have by now or very soon.. here

mistypeaks · 30/05/2008 11:45

I appear to have a bracelet named after me ! At least my memory will live on.
Thanks so much for the comments on my bag guys. It meant a lot to me, brightened my day a lot.

Whizzz · 30/05/2008 12:00

ranting my email addy is
whizzz_123 (at) yahoo dot co dot uk

if you want to contact me - you need the underscore.

I actually hadn't charged that much for my bracelets in the end but I think I am selling myself short so will increase slightly.
I am slowly getting myself sorted. I haven't had time to post any pics of the recemt stuff I've made but will try & remember to get a photo of my stall tomorrow.

d, found the thread, thank you!

Gingermonkey · 30/05/2008 12:46

lk - yep, got the walking foot. But it also came with the one down (230? 220? I don't remember). It was the knee lift that sold me, whether I really need a knee lift I don't know, but always best to get the one with the most features, then I can 'grow into it'. I was the same as you - thought if I got something I will grow out of in a bit, then I have to go through all the trauma of shopping again (and it is really quite stressful, isn't it?)

Meri - ooooohhhhh!!!! Thanks for signing up too!

gm- have e-mailed you.

haven't done much today except tidy and tidy some more... I have stained some book pages from the book I rescued from the Library sale for 20p...

good news though.. our offer has been accepted on the house we want... we have a cash buyer for ours though its a bit low ball.. but there is a repeat viewing tonight and another one later this afternoon and another viewing tommrow ... so we should be covered..

Miaou · 30/05/2008 13:38

good news about the house meri

gm, just spotted you on craft juice this am!

Gingermonkey · 30/05/2008 14:23

great news Meri!!!

Miaou - I think I've only ever been on once, you know when you sign on to something, and then forget the log in details - well, that's me!!! ha ha ha

Great news about the house Meri. Thats really good that you have done so well considering the market atm.
And you have my sympathy with the Rats.
We've had no end of Rat problems since we've moved into this house.
The first one managed to get into a cavity wall and flood our bloody kitchen . The rest have been outside in our yard.
We're on first name terms with our council pest control now

GM, I've signed up for your swap even though I have a million and one things to do. I couldnt resist a doll swap though
Your sewing machine is very very nice.
Does it have voice activation so you tell it what stitch you want and it just does it

Miaou, I will put your lovely doll on Flickr. She is gorgeous.

Vintage, I haven't put the flickr thing on my blog yet because even though LK gave clear instructions I still cant work the thing out.

I had a lovely day yesterday. Took the kids to a place called Preston Park at Stockton.
They have a butterfly world there, a couple of play areas and lots of other animals.
After that we went shopping and got some more jeans, a new top, some nice No.7 goodies and some new shoes. Although I'm still umming over them.
Then my parents babysat and dh and I went to see SATC.

It was brilliant.
I cried in parts like the sad sap I am and laughed like a Hyena in places too.
I've wrote a bit about it here and I've put on dd's friends doll

Miaou · 30/05/2008 18:56

have now blogged my wedding bag - my first proper bag I have made!

doll is gorgeous nbg - have left comment

Miaou · 30/05/2008 18:58

oh and ginge - [env y]

I love my new singer, but that is the proverbial dogs' doodahs

vInTaGeVioLeT · 30/05/2008 20:10

i made another toadstool today!! i'm loving making these as they're easy to carry about and pick up when the kids are happy playing, i've actually made one and a half as i had made the first stalk too fat!!
I've been very inspired by the one's on black apple but i'd already decided on my colours/embellishments before i saw those ones, i wanna make a whole forest of them now!!!
thanks to lucykate for the super easy to follow tutorial

ranting · 30/05/2008 20:51

Oh machine envy at GM!! You lucky, lucky thing you!! Hope all goes well Meri, am off to look at Miaou's bag.
