Here we go!

I am trying to crochet my fairy but struggling with the arms at the moment. Meri, I have finished my meme, and tagged a few more people, including dizzyday and lucykate

Dior I just found it!

Sorry guys - I've been so caught up with Ravelry I've been neglecting MN .

I've answered all the questions but who on Earth do I nominate? I don't know who's done it & who hasn't!

ranting · 23/04/2008 10:10

Hello, you lot, fighting off a bug (and hopefully winning) so been avoiding you out of guilt because I have done nothing, a big old zilch.

I have ferried dd to dance classes and otherwise sat on my (admittedly peachy) derriere. I have got some ideas for the doll swap though, so when I've finished the other stuff I shall begin.

Just had a quick look at the links on here, Miaou, love those shoes, they are gorgeous, Dior, lovely, lovely bag, GW, nice to see you back, love the wool.

lucykate · 23/04/2008 10:41

miaou, where did you get those shoes from??

am currently on the train on route to london, using dh's laptop!

jeangenie · 23/04/2008 11:23

oh god LK the pv is TODAY and I totally forgot to contact you my only excuse is DD2's nursery was closed unexpectedly yesterday and I was all of a kerfuffle...hope you have a lovely day and it all goes well for your dh

(I want to know where shoes are from too...if we all have a giant meetup we'll be able to know each other by our copycat green shoes at this rate!!!)

Miaou · 23/04/2008 12:39

LOL at my shoe fan club - I got them from here

I have now prewashed my fabric for my skirt and jacket, will now read the instructions about 10 times before I start cutting - God I'm nervous!

Cardigan progressing slowly - the sleeves are taking ages in comparison to the rest of it!

dizzyday07 · 23/04/2008 14:02

Miaou - I don't "do" shoes (like I don't do bags) but I found these from the same place as yours.

I'm seriously tempted!!

Miaou · 23/04/2008 15:02

oh dizzy - thank you so much for the pattern - I forgot to thank you!! Sorry! I'm not generally a clog-style fan but those are rather nice, aren't they? I have favourited that shop!

I have just got this book from the library - looks brilliant, lots of really clear instructions and pics! I'll just add it to the list of stuff I have to do

I got a novel out as well and the librarian (a mate, I should add) was rofl as he said "and when will you get time to read that?" - he has a point

OP posts:
dizzyday07 · 23/04/2008 16:25

Miaou - no worries - it took me long enough to send to you!!

I want to make the bag on the front of that book. Why does my library never have any decent books in??

Miaou · 23/04/2008 17:04

Oh I had to order it, but Highland is good for that - I have internet access to the whole of the Highland catalogue, so I just tap in my request whenever I want

OP posts:
dizzyday07 · 23/04/2008 17:09

Maybe I'll try that with mine - I'd get the whole of Leicestershire!!

Miaou · 23/04/2008 17:11

It's definitely worth it - our library, good though it is, has a zillion books on making cards (so not my thing), and not a single one on sewing . I always order books in if people recommend them (not so easy with the Japanese ones though )

Miaou · 23/04/2008 18:44

I'm sure that would be fine startingover - are you just making it up or following a pattern?

Evening ladies.
Not had a bad day after all, mainly loafed on the sofa, watching Loose ladies and indulging in a little light crafting but I worked out how to turn a heel, so I'm thoroughly delighted with myself.

vInTaGeVioLeT · 24/04/2008 09:05

it's not at all craft related BUT yesterday we got some guineapigs and they are cute cute cute!!!! ds's is called "diesal 10" and dd's "George" as it was st.georges day!!!

sorry just had to share

GreebosWhiskers · 24/04/2008 09:08

ooo ranting - I'm very of anyone who can knit socks. I've got some scrummy sock yarn here but haven't been brave enough to try it yet - am gonna look out for crocheted sock patterns

I've finished knitting up my sample gloves to send off for photographs & I spent 2 hours(!) last night writing out the pattern for them. Now it's just a case of typing up a wee bio & sending everything off to the States.

I'm now working on (yet more) swaps - a crocheted cream & jam scone & a crocheted custard slice to use as pin-cushions. If I can be bothered have time I may make a couple of felted tea plates for them to sit on.

GreebosWhiskers · 24/04/2008 09:09

Aw dd would love a guinea pig - unfortunately so would the cat

GreebosWhiskers · 24/04/2008 09:22

ranting - I've tagged you m'dear.

startingoveragain · 24/04/2008 09:31

hi im following a pattern but like i said i really dont like felt lol

so i'll embroider good good

have started a cardi for dd in sirdar snuggly i have in my stash i really dont like acyrlic its horrid but hey the sooner its knitted the better lol

lucykate · 24/04/2008 12:25

hellllooooo!, had a great day in london yesterday, dh was really happy i went with him. we got to the gallery just before 12, hung around til 2, then met up with fil and went for lunch, dh stayed on until the evening but i came back on the 3.30 train.

shame you couldn't make it jg, i thought of you when we went past covent garden on the tube.

right, back to business, my sewing room is a bit tidier but i seem to have mislaid my crafting mojo, haven't done any sewing for nearly 2 weeks and feel really out of the habit. someone force me to pick up a needle this evening and do some crafting

lucykate · 24/04/2008 12:27

actually, i'm going to post a to do list here to buck my ideas up,

finish mil's birthday present, one of those felted bags
sort selvedge subscription
need to buy some more pink fabrics
make some pink owls for next etsy range

Miaou · 24/04/2008 12:32

I'm not a massive fan of sirdar (our LYS is a main stockist too, bah ) but I quite like the feel of the snuggly stuff. (mind you I haven't knitted with it, just fingered it in the shop!)

Startingover - can you share some pics of your doll? Make a profile on here and add a photo if you don't want/haven't got a blog.

NBG - I have been in contact with my swapee for the doll swap and we both have ideas for what we are going to make!

I blogged a non-crafty pic last night of ds2 - he was doin' me 'ead in - taken at about 11.30pm!!!!

I've now done 49 posts! And only started at the beginning of March! When I get to 100 posts I will have a giveaway I think (too much on to do one for my 50th just now).

First arm of cardigan complete - I am trying not to stress about how much I have to do in the next six weeks - if I think about it rationally I've actually got enough time - but I can't bear to leave a project unfinished before I start the next one, which would in fact be a better use of my time (as there are times when I can sew but not knit, etc). However I am sure it will all come together in the end!
