Here we go!

I am trying to crochet my fairy but struggling with the arms at the moment. Meri, I have finished my meme, and tagged a few more people, including dizzyday and lucykate

Dingle - I hope the sun is shining where you are. After reading your post I feel positively guilty for feeling so exhausted with just one dd (4) to occupy - and she's an angel 99% of the time.

Me time is so incredibly important, even if it's just washing up ON YOUR OWN in the quiet, putting the rubbish out ON YOUR OWN or just 10 minutes in the bath with a book.

I have just started reading this and I think it's going to be one of those books that everyone can relate too. It had me chuckling away from the beginning.

Miaou - It's very strange to see your own creations blogged elsewhere but very lovely ! I'm so glad you like it ... and it matches your girls room, perfect !

I love tissue paper too and have a big pile of lots of lovely different colours to match whatever I am posting out.

Not much crafting for me today. It's the last day of school hols for us so we are meeting my friend at Wellington Country park for a day of playing and nature (must remember the collecting bucket). Oh, and some yummy hot coffee. We sit on a bench sipping and gassing while the girls play. Not sure that would pass in the 'How to be the perfect parent' books

Have a lovely day all

ranting · 09/04/2008 10:01

Morning ladies, it's beautiful here, hope the sun is shining for you lot.
Dingle, sorry to hear you've had a lot on your plate, glad to see you back though.
Yes Miaou, I DID spot that but assumed that I'd been spelling it wrong all along!

chrissnow · 09/04/2008 10:08

Sorry Dingle - missed you out of my last post twas all me me me!! Sorry you're having a stressful time. Shame you're so far away you could come and throw the kids in the general direction of mine then have some coffee/tea/wine/cake with me!!! Another great card though - love the triangle/bunting one. (I think it was GM who made some bunting not long back - I am now obsessed with bunting!?!?)

Dingle · 09/04/2008 10:58

I can't remember the last book I actually read for pleasure, my type of reading is NVQ work or resources about Down Syndrome, or educational material about statementing!!LOL...hardly the relaxing in the bath type books!

I am still positive but it's so frustrating when I have so many things to do and to think about, sort of like juggling...and I am very much a "tick off the list " type of gal!! (well ol' woman more like it now!) I like to put 100% into everything I do and that really doesn't help matters does it.

Funny enough I booked me in for a hair cut next week- I haven't had it done since last July because I can remember the builders had just started digging the foundations for the extension. I would love to have it coloured too but I simply cannot afford it- will get a do it at home jobby!

I have been looking at these here!!

haircuts!!!

Gingermonkey · 09/04/2008 12:05

scream shriek Guess what the posty just brought me?????

A HUGE owl (well, huge is an exaggeration - more perfect hug sized) and a crocheted smelly pouch thingy, to make my smalls smell of roses!!! Ooh, ranting - you have done very well, haven't you? Thank you so much. DD is going to be over the moon when she sees her owl (if she sees it, it may hide from her forever...with me!). I'm going to put my smelly thingy in my knicker drawer now. I love it!

Dingle - sorry you're feeling a bit . I think you do a marvellous job tbh. You always seem to have created fab things, have all sorts of work on your plate, plus the DCs and a house that's all over the place. Try not to look at the big picture, and deal with one day, or one thing at a time.

ranting · 09/04/2008 12:17

That was quick!! Only posted it yesterday morning. Yes the owl is HUGE, isn't he but, I wanted him to be firmly stuffed, dds' one is starting to wilt a bit because I didn't stuff him well enough.
I got complimented on your fancy vintage bag the other day, took it out to retrieve my lip balm and a woman said 'I like your bag', I replied 'Oh it was made for me'.

Gingermonkey · 09/04/2008 12:38

He's (actually - I think it's a she owl) lovely, I have been having a little cuddle. No doubt she'll be going to school tomorrow with her, something goes every day.

How fab that someone commented on your little bag, the only person that has commented on the one I made for me was DD, and she said 'I like the one you sent to that cupcake lady better, mummy'.

I signed up to the mini quilt swap on lucylocket's blog, and have got some kind of textiles genius as my partner. Poor woman, I even emailed lucy and said 'look, if she doesn't want to do it with me, it's fine - I won't be offended!' I don't know what to do for her. She has sons too (big ones - not babies) so I can't even do something for one of them. Ho hum

MrsDiorKeanuReeves · 09/04/2008 14:06

Dingle - sorry you feel a bit low . My ds is going back to school on Tuesday. I am feeling dodgy as I have a tummy bug. We went to M&D's for lunch today and mum sent me home to get some rest! So I have 5 hours on my own to relax with no ds. Just what the doctor ordered. I am obviously feeling much better though as I have just eaten some M&Ms, although I think I may pay for them later .

I have blogged some more things on my blog. The bracelet was made for a friend of my mum's, who liked the one my mum had on. So she asked me to make one exactly the same, although it is actually slightly greener than the original. The garnet necklace went really well and I love garnets, so I am really pleased with it.

Tilly - I love the house you made for Miaou! Would you possibly think about a cost for making one for my mum (birthday in June), with a torty and white cat somewhere on it? Please let me know if you can. Thanks!

dizzyday07 · 09/04/2008 14:16

Have just been trying out my embroidered pictures.

I've put a pic on the "I want your children" thread

MrsDiorKeanuReeves · 09/04/2008 14:17

Dizzy - can you link to it please? I don't know where it is. Have you blogged it?

MrsDiorKeanuReeves · 09/04/2008 14:19

S'alright, I found it AND you had blogged it!

Dingle · 09/04/2008 14:32

GM THANK YOU for your donation-LOL, that reminds me- I should be training by now too. Still I'll walk around if I have to but would like to beat my time from 2006!

Gingermonkey · 09/04/2008 16:17

dingle - you are most welcome. And for the rest of you....dingle's not got enough on her plate at the minute, she's doing race for life as well...there's a link to the sponsor page on her blog, just so you all know and can sponsor her Sponsor? is that spelt right? sponser, sponsar. It's sponser, isn't it? Oh I don't know
Send money to dingle, anyway!!!

MrsDiorKeanuReeves · 09/04/2008 16:21

Tillyboo · 09/04/2008 16:42

Hello MrsDiorKeanuReeves - Thank you so much for the cottage comps !

Yep, I can design a cottage for you, would love to. I love doing bespoke designs.

Can you email me at

laurie at 23BeechHill dot co dot uk

with some more details. Apart from the torty cat (I had a very special ginger and tortie cat who was 16 when I lost her ) have you any other preferences i.e. do you want me to base it on your mums house i.e. specific colour door or colourway to match a particular room ?

Looking forward to hearing from you

MrsDiorKeanuReeves · 09/04/2008 16:43

Dior ... If you can give me a couple of weeks notice if you want me to design something for you. That should be enough time.

I'm not sure what our 'oliday arrangements are this year i.e. when and for how long.

Just drop me an email

VV - I used Versa Color for this project but will use Fabrico in the future.

Thanks all for the lovely comments - I bet it still sits in my Etsy shop though

I'm still umming and arring as to whether to keep on with Etsy

I have a very nice Village fair coming up in a month or so (a really, really nice one) so I'm looking forward to that.

Just off to raid the Neopolitan ice-cream now, yum! yum!
