Lost my crochet mojo, haven't picked up a hook for weeks. Need to find it somewhere as I have some projects that need to be finished for the summer.

Hope nobody is suffering too badly after being jabbed. I had a pretty rough 24 hours afterwards (worse than I was expecting based on experience of others) but thankfully it was short-lived

lucysmam · 20/04/2021 14:36

Me too, thinking about it. Maybe the solution is to make a circle with 138 stitches & a few rows and see how tight it actually is.

That's rubbish tizwoz, hopefully you find it again soon!

CrochetBug · 20/04/2021 15:01

Maybe your crojo ran away with mine @tizwozliz?

@lucysmam your waist is the same size as my thigh. Grin well maybe not quite, but I'm not going to measure them to check Grin

I have issues making clothes because even though my tension is always perfect they never come out the right size Hmm

lucysmam · 20/04/2021 15:05

I've just increased my foundation chain by 5, then measured it against me again...it's actually too long! So I'll pull the extra 5 when I've met dd2 on the park.

She wants to walk home alone like most of her class-mates so meeting on the park is a compromise for the mo.

CrochetBug it's usually smaller but I'm still eating my way through Easter chocolate!

lucysmam · 20/04/2021 16:49

Back again, my 69fsc measures approx 16"...so, my sc maybe need to be a touch looser than they were Confused

I'm going back to the blanket! Can't go far wrong doing 197 of the same thing in a straight line 🤔🙄🤣

sophs29 · 20/04/2021 19:26

Oh @lucysmam I bet you can't wait until you find a straightforward pattern!

I finished the elephant, minus trousers and a hat; 1. Because I can't be bothered Grin and 2. Because I thought my nephew would just yank them off anyway!

My DS has looked through both Pica Pau books and requested a frog (in RL I love frogs..but it's not the most exciting pattern in the book) Hmm so I'll be making that next!

Grin @sophs29 maybe the next one will be 🙄

I have actually seen the attached that I took a screenshot of - that looks fairly straightforward maybe? Two straight lines stitched up centre back, and two armholes? What could possibly go wrong if I tried it 🤔

I love the elephant, they're my favourite animal 😊 You're probably right about the trousers and hat being yanked off straight away -it happens here still & my cuddly toy lover is 11yo Grin

Uff, forgot to attach my picture

tizwozliz and crochetbug mine also seems to have run off. I need to do some blocking on a finished project and can’t even find the energy to do that!

sophs the elephant is so cute

sophs29 · 20/04/2021 20:35

Oh yes @lucysmam that looks nice and doesn't look like it will cause any trouble Grin

Thank you Thanks

lazylinguist · 20/04/2021 21:28

Adorable elephant, sophs! lucysmam that looks very nice and straightforward!

I'm loving making my Goldwing jumper! I'm really pleased with the colours and enjoying the fairisle. It's making me neglect all my other WIPs though!

lucysmam · 20/04/2021 21:48

Do you reckon two scarves, stitched together, then a 'belt' for the waist?

I might try that instead of the jumper for now, it's likely to confuse me less & be better for the summer anyway. The yarn for the jumper's not going anywhere so I can tackle it another time.

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 21/04/2021 10:25

I took my DK stash wool round to my DM's and she's claimed some ignore the fact I liberated it from her stash in the first place so I'm just knitting on my lace tee until I work out what wool to use for the new pattern. There's something like 400 stitches in a round at the moment, it's fairly mindless but not enjoyable.

Looks like I've been lucky, no side affects except for a bit of a bruised arm but DH got his jab yesterday too and was shivering away on one side of me last night and then DS2 snuck into our bed and was twitching away on the other so I'm looking forward to bedtime already BrewBrewBrew

lazylinguist · 21/04/2021 14:55

I had mine at an hour and a half ago. No effects so far, but I guess it's a bit soon! Oof - 400 stitches in a round, Flavia! That must feel interminable!

OP posts:
FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 21/04/2021 16:50

It does lazy! It means I rarely finish a round all at once with the bits of knitting time I get at the moment which makes it seem longer!

Oh good, fingers crossed you stay that way!

CrochetBug · 21/04/2021 22:46

I've been good today. Made myself get up by 10am (I've been sleeping until 2pm most days). And didn't have a nap. Plus I actually cooked a proper dinner for the dc instead of making pasta/telling them to feed themselves. Well, ready made pie but that's more 'proper' than anything I've made for a while.
Only did 4 rows of blanket but it felt good to do some. Onwards and upwards!

I'm glad you had a good day @CrochetBug Smile blanket is looking gorgeous!

lazylinguist · 22/04/2021 08:06

Yay - good for you, @CrochetBug! Beautiful blanket too.
Still no side effects for you, Flavia? I woke up with a sore arm and feeling a bit ropey this morning- achy and a bit feeble. Feeling better after a couple of paracetamol though! Good excuse to take it easy today. Hoping knitting won't make my arm hurt!

Love These socks I just saw on Instagram!

crochetbug blankets looking good, loving those colours. I managed a chain and a row of (UK) dc last night. I’m hoping to do another row tonight.

lazy hope you don’t have any side effects and can manage to get some of your jumper done. Those socks are lovely. I’ve still not cracked socks. I attempted on me and didn’t get past the toe!

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 22/04/2021 09:29

Nice work CrochetBug Brew and lovely blanket, it's so sunny and cheerful! Every stitch counts.

Still good thankfully lazy. I hope the paracetamol kick in, but take it easy and have a nice restful day just in case. Even though I didn't get symptoms, according to my fitness tracker my heart rate was nuts yesterday compared to normal so it just goes to show how much work your body has to do to process it.

Those are lovely socks!

lucysmam · 22/04/2021 09:34

Brill colour choice @CrochetBug! Are you feeling a bit brighter? :)

I've been steadily growing dd2's blanket, while I have a sulk about the sweater confusion. May start the jacket type thingy I posted instead and go back to the jumper.

CrochetBug · 22/04/2021 16:04

Thanks everyone. The colours are gorgeous aren't they!

I am feeling brighter. Partly cause and effect. Getting up and going out makes me feel better. But my depression and anxiety make it hard to go out. Hmm
I went out out today. Hobbycraft (pointless with no money but made me feel human) and the local park cafe with my mum. Fresh air and sunshine.

So many lovely pairs of socks! I really need to get better at knitting.

@lucysmam
That jacket thing is lovely. It looks similar to the one I made but not quite the same.

InTheNightWeWillWish · 22/04/2021 17:21

crochetbug going to hobby craft when you have no money is probably the safest option. Otherwise you’d have left with some reduced polystyrene Easter eggs, glass paints, a birdcage and a calligraphy set. Plus yarn, obviously!
