I'm progressing a bit faster with my KAL cushion. How's everyone else getting on with it? Anyone finished and put zip/buttons on yet? Love the buttons on that little cardigan, @CrochetBug!

@CrochetBug That cardigan is amazing. Am I right that it's done in Tunisian?

@BookShark I couldn't notice it but if it was my work I'd have to unpick as I know it's there... I'm trying to get better at not just undoing all my work as I want to habe finished items but I am a terrible perfectionist with crochet.

Sorry I've not been around, work got crazy and bad back has meant I've switched to my other craft (cross stitch)

NiceCardigan · 04/04/2021 10:15

@lucysmam I’ve shaded the chart as I’m going along and still managed to lose my place! Not sure why I’m finding it so difficult it might be that the pattern has about 30 rows before it repeats so it’s hard to see if it’s right just by looking at what I’ve already knitted.

I’m on the back of the KAL now I’ve made button holes but don’t have any suitable buttons. I’ll probably finish it tomorrow depending on how much time I spend on the dreaded socks.

Happy Easter to you all, regardless of religious affiliations or lack thereof! Easter Smile Anyone doing anything fun today? I've just been on my first (very gentle) run since my calf went twang a couple of weeks ago.

Dh is making roast lamb with roast potatoes and leek and chicory gratin for lunch, followed by rhubarb crumble. Can't wait! And I need to wrap ds' presents as it's his birthday on Tuesday.

Happy Easter everyone Daffodil I'm doing an Easter egg hunt for DS in a little while and then I think it'll just be a cosy day with yummy food and we'll maybe put on some films!
Your meal later sounds incredible @lazylinguist Grin

petridishmystery · 04/04/2021 11:35

Happy Easter everyone! My sister has offered to host us for Sunday lunch for the first time ever so that’s nice, I’ve somehow still ended up cooking some of the meat but at least I won’t have any of the clean up for once!

lucysmam · 04/04/2021 11:41

Happy Easter everyone 🐰🐣

We've had a lazy, chocolate, breakfast & I'm roasting a gammon later on. Just making a proper cauli cheese to go with it because I've fancied it all week!

Other than eat more chocolate, and get some washing out in the sun (washer seems to be taking an age), my only plans are blanket and shoulder seams on the cardi.

Nanna's calling round later too :)

InTheNightWeWillWish · 04/04/2021 12:43

Happy Easter!

Our road and the footpath opposite our house is closed this afternoon, so we couldn’t go out even if we wanted to Hmm. We walked the dogs this morning and they’re snoozing peacefully now. I’m 7 weeks pregnant so no scoffing my Easter eggs today. DH and the dogs (obviously the dogs have an Easter egg) had eater eggs for breakfast and I had half an apple. But I’ve got my Lindt bunny next to me and I’m hoping I might be able to have a nibble this afternoon without feeling too sick. DH is doing tea, he’s doing a BBQ brisket but we’re doing it inside rather than firing up the BBQ outside. The brisket has been marinating overnight so I’m banned from looking in the fridge in case the smell of raw meat/general fridge puts me off dinner.

I’ve got a handful of stitches left on the ear for my dragon blanket for my friend’s little boy. Then I just need to sew the ear on. All the ends are already sewn in. I’ve got a moss stitch blanket that I’ve started and I’ll try to do a bit more of that but otherwise I’ll probably be starting a new project and spending the afternoon crocheting.

lucysmam · 04/04/2021 12:47

Aww @InTheNightWeWillWish congratulations! Hopefully you'll be able to enjoy tea, and some chocolate (that's the important bit!) later on Thanks

lazylinguist · 04/04/2021 12:52

Oh big congratulations, @InTheNightWeWillWish !!!

Congratulations @InTheNightWeWillWish! Hope you feel able to eat chocolate soon.

No major plans here but did make my DH do an Easter egg hunt, he didn't like me making him solve riddles lol

InTheNightWeWillWish · 04/04/2021 13:26

Thanks all ☺️

Dragon blanket for my friend’s little boy is done. Well it needs blocking but that’s going to have to wait until DH has done decorating and there’s space for it not to be disturbed but his birthday isn’t for a few weeks so I’ve got a bit of time.

Happy Easter everyone

Eeeeeeeeeeeee @InTheNightWeWillWish how exciting!!!

@eitak22 yes the cardigan is Tunisian. Its so easy!

sophs29 · 04/04/2021 14:54

Congratulations @InTheNightWeWillWish hope you manage to eat all the goodies today!

BookShark · 04/04/2021 16:23

Happy Easter all! DS and I have just got back from spending the day with my DSis and nephews - only the second time we've met the youngest, and he's 6 months old, so we've had a lovely time and some illicit cuddles. Now watching the boat race (come on Cambridge!) before trying our Jason Atherton at Home box for tea - busy day!

Adding to the congratulations for InTheNightWeWillWish. Now you've got an excuse to make lots of baby clothes - a genuine need to crochet!

eitak22 I think you're right, and I should have gone back and corrected it, but I convinced myself I wouldn't notice and have now got to the point I just can't face redoing it. Hopefully I'll stop seeing it soon!

lucysmam · 04/04/2021 16:27

That sounds like a nice way to spend the day @BookShark. My friend's little ds doesn't often like snuggles so I enjoy the times when he does.

I've seamed the shoulders of the cardi. & checked with Nanna that my sides are pinned in the right places. They are so I'll do those tomorrow now.

Might do some more blanket tonight but probably not the 8 rows I was hoping for.

InTheNightWeWillWish · 04/04/2021 17:06

sophs, crochetbug and bookshark thanks

bookshark I’ve been sneaking yarn in for that exact purpose. Any time I’ve needed to hit the minimum spend for free delivery I go and find something to add to that stash. I’m just waiting until I’ve had my scan, then I’ll start working through it.

In the meantime, I’m getting through all the birthday presents I’m making for people (that they didn’t ask for but are getting regardless Grin). I’ve started MIL’s present which is this blanket - www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/phoenix-19. Little did I know when buying the pattern that it had this little gem “while working through the pattern you notice certain ‘oddities’... trust the pattern... correct stitch placement is of the upmost importance throughout the pattern. This is not one you can fudge” 🤦‍♀️I’m up to an ‘oddity’ now so let’s see if I can make it round without ending up in counting corner.

Buntyforgirls · 04/04/2021 18:05

Happy Easter to all! And a huge woooo fabby congratulations to #inthenightwewillwish! And I love your dragon blanket too!

lazylinguist · 04/04/2021 18:14

Now watching the boat race (come on Cambridge!)

I was watching too, but cheering for Oxford (for all the good it did!). I always went to see it in person when I lived in London. I rowed at university, so I always feel their pain while I'm watching!

Happy Easter all!

Congratulations InTheNightWeWillWish! How lovely! I hope you managed some chocolate Smile

Tiz I see my prediction about snow came true today, there was a skiff of snow on top of the mountain this morning so I'm wearing my new jumper and still shivering outside Grin

lazylinguist · 04/04/2021 18:29

I'm getting closer to finish my seemingly endless CAL blanket! Four more rows to go, then it's time for the border and fringe. I have arbitrarily decided that 3 is a good number of projects for me to have on the go, so I'm excited about finishing one so I'll have an excuse to start another!

OP posts:
InTheNightWeWillWish · 04/04/2021 19:35

You can fudge this blanket a little bit. Obviously this is a deliberate mistake following on from the information lucysmam shared with us about deliberate mistakes and because the designer told me I couldn’t. Not a cock up Hmm but one round after the ‘oddities’ and I’ve got what I should have!

lazy four rows left is exciting. Have you decided what your next project is?

lucysmam · 04/04/2021 19:47

Lazy, 3 does seem a good number of WIP to have on the go!

What will your new third one be?

CrochetBug · 04/04/2021 20:09

3 seems like a very sensible number of WIPs!

I started this last night, then noticed a mistake this morning (serves me right for crocheting at 2am). I remembered the thing about mistakes, added a stitch so the mistake didn't carry up the whole blanket, and convinced my inner Virgo that it would be fine. Then I found another mistake! The 2 together made me feel oddly unsettled so I frogged 2 rows and corrected them both Grin
Then I did the blue row, and really wasn't feeling it but decided to finish one whole set of colours before deciding. I'm glad I did because I love it now!

sophs29 · 04/04/2021 21:35

Oooh @CrochetBug lovely colours! is it going to be a blanket?

@lazylinguist that is a good number of WIP's although the OCD in me gets stressed with more than one thing on the go so I can normally only concentrate on one main thing. I can't even read a book if I have a crochet project on the go because in my head I need to give my all to each thing haha! Maybe I'm just a weirdo Grin
