Hmmm... @BookShark. The lazy person in me says leave it, no one will notice. But my inner Virgo would have to frog and redo it Blush
It is stunning though! I'm in awe.

InTheNightWeWillWish · 03/04/2021 13:10

@BookShark I’m less than useless as even with the edited photo, I can’t see the problem Grin I love it though. The whirl is doing it a lot of justice

sophs29 · 03/04/2021 13:21

@CrochetBug that is so lovely and so neat!

@BookShark i don't think it's overly obvious but I know to yourself it will be, but I can't offer any advice I'm afraid! It's looking absolutely beautiful though!

lucysmam · 03/04/2021 13:51

@BookShark I'm sure I read somewhere about crafters (from a certain culture...but I can't for the life of me remember!) deliberately making a mistake in their work so their soul isn't trapped in it. I'll have a google and see if I can find it...

lucysmam · 03/04/2021 13:57

Turns out there are loads! Some believe a mistake is a pathway for a spirit, others that it ensures you don't get "blanket sickness" when making a blanket, others that mistakes are how we learn (which is very true!).

Either way, I think I'd leave it in. 3 rows is a lot to frog for one mistake - especially if the rest, and your stitch count, is correct! :)

lazylinguist · 03/04/2021 14:10

That is absolutely gorgeous, @BookShark! The colour transition is beautiful! I can't really see the mistake - I think I'd leave it tbh.

@bookshark love the kitty pic. Cats are so demanding aren't they 😂. Princess Abi is on a blanket mountain with two other blankets under her. She can be very odd about the scent of things, and wouldn't lie on a new other one so I stuck it under her butt.

I love the sophies, and to the untrained eye can't see any issue or problem with that picture. I can't even work out what it's supposed to look like from that picture. If you can leave it, do so.

But, if it will eat away at your soul every time you look at it, then frog it. It depends how loud the annoyed voice is in your head. As a long time crocheter though, I genuinely don't look at it and think hmmmm that row is all wrong. It's stunning ♥

There are certain pieces like this that will always stick in your mind. I seen a new one the other day which was new to me

lazylinguist · 03/04/2021 14:17

I must be very lucky with cats! I'm on my 3rd now, and all three have been remarkably laid back, undemanding characters. Admittedly the current one will only eat one (fortunately fairly cheap and very common) brand and flavour of food, but other than that he doesn't give a stuff about much! He will lie or sit on anything, but his favourite place is on the edge of the fish tank cabinet, watching the fish. Grin

Wow @lazylinguist that kaleidoscope blanket is amazing! I love it and have never seen it before!

CrochetBug · 03/04/2021 14:41

Finished (other than choosing buttons). At the risk of sounding big headed, I'm a little in love with it. Blush

That kaleidoscope blanket is beautiful!

Sorry I meant @Myshitisreal

Myshitisreal · 03/04/2021 15:29

@lazylinguist fish AND cats 😂 you are brave. Ziva would have been straight in the tank, Abi is too chunky to climb many places although since her sister left ud, she is prone to being suspiciously mischievous like her sister was. I'd love to see a kitty pic???

This as well, so many outrageous patterns www.deramores.com/products/persian-tiles-eastern-jewels-stylecraft-blanket-pack

@crochetbug you're a total pro. That's beautiful 😍 what's next??

CrochetBug · 03/04/2021 15:38

Good question @Myshitisreal. I'm not sure. I've got my eye on a rainbow ripple with raised posts which would look lovely with the pastel colours I bought.

But then I fell in love with this last night so am wondering if I have some colours that it would work with.

BookShark · 03/04/2021 15:38

Thanks all. I like the idea that is a deliberate mistake so maybe I'll leave it - I've already had to frog a fair amount so really can't face doing it all again! Not the fault of the pattern though - I think it's a combination of cotton thread meaning the stitches are small, and doing it in the whirl means it's less obvious which row you're crocheting into than if they were different colours. I do like the whirl though - have seen some gorgeous shawls using it which have also been added to my project list.

CrochetBug that's really lovely - you must be so chuffed.

lazylinguist · 03/04/2021 15:57

I'd love to see a kitty pic???

This is Loki!

Omg @lazylinguist look at the little jelly bean paws 😍

lazylinguist · 03/04/2021 16:57

Grin Dd calls them his toe beans. He's a funny cat. He's quite clumsy and undignified for a cat, eats like a messy barbarian, and will tolerate literally any amount of fairly vigorous fussing and stroking. He still doesn't understand that he can't catch the fish through the glass! Hmm

@CrochetBug that cardigan is lovely.

I’m back on my previously abandoned Norwegian sock pattern. It’s so difficult to keep track of where I am actually up to in the pattern chart. I tried using stitch markers to mark a section of ten stitches and then after a few rounds I had nine in one section. No sign of the missing stitch so had to frog it again. I asked DH should I give up and he said no!

Now on another attempt and I think I’ve got it right at last.

I’ve just ordered the yarn to make this www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/patsy-jumper-knitting-pattern-for-women-in-debbie-bliss-cotton-dk

Must finish the socks first!

lucysmam · 03/04/2021 18:45

@NiceCardigan could you somehow mark the chart to help keep on track, as well as the actual sock itself?

I love the kitty pics 😍 we had cats when I was younger & both girls are keen for one so we'll see eventually.

@CrochetBug the little cardigan looks brilliant! I always remember having buttons with little pictures printed on them when my Mum made us stuff. Little round, white plastic, ones.

@BookShark I'll look forward to seeing the next update of Sophie. It's definitely something I want to have a go at.

I bought another 9 of the rainbow yarn from Poundland while we were in town. I keep looking at the cardi on Shein that I took a screenshot of ages ago but don't really want to spend nearly £30 on something I might not wear. I reckon I should have enough to finish off dd2's blanket, and attempt to replicate it for myself and haven't spent that on the yarn between the two projects. Nanna had been looking out for it to buy me 6 though...I suspect she may have picked up the last 6 I left on the shelf as she said she'd been to town this afternoon 🤣 & she's calling tomorrow at some point.

lucysmam · 03/04/2021 18:46

I've just remembered as I posted, I think I still have some of the buttons I referred to upstairs maybe. I'm sure they had owls on them so I'm going to have to rummage to find out now!

CrochetBug · 03/04/2021 19:05

I love buttons! We used to have the little picture ones too. One of the things I 'inherited' (I use the term loosely as the lady who gave it to me is still alive) in my sewing table was a margarine tub full of odd buttons. Some of them were from her Mum so no idea how old they are! Mind you most of them are really boring Grin

I've finished the cardigan with some lovely wooden hearts that I have in my collection.

sophs29 · 03/04/2021 20:13

Oh @CrochetBug those buttons are perfect!
If you don't have a baby to give it to I think you should definitely put it in your 'shop pile' someone would snap that up 😍

lucysmam · 03/04/2021 21:56

Aah, we had the obligatory Quality Street tin of buttons when I was a child. Many hours of fun right there Grin. It lived in the dining table middle, that was like a long cupboard, along with hot water bottles, table cloths and Mum's aprons. One of the aprons is in my kitchen; dd2 uses it. I wonder what happened to the rest 🤷‍♀️

Dd2's blanket is nearing 2ft long now. I'm getting faster & have managed 8 rows today! Going to try for another 8 tomorrow too.

petridishmystery · 03/04/2021 23:27

Tired enough today to learn I can actually knit lying down...but not for long before I get too sleepy.
