InTheNightWeWillWish · 29/01/2021 08:21

flavia wow at almost 3, he’s doing a great job taking photos. I’d definitely make the most of that talent!

givemebooks · 29/01/2021 08:34

Morning all :) @spamm that cowl is lovely! Looks so snuggly! @knitWitHurlOne welcome!! Cannot wait to see pictures of your CAL!

I was wondering can we DM pictures on mumsnet?? Just had the idea of us all sending a pic of our CAL'S at the end of each part and quickly making a collage pic of them all together? I might be taking this too far🤣🤣ha!! Or i might go through the thread and collect the pictures and do it, know we are waiting on some and we have some people newly starting too :)

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 29/01/2021 08:54

KnitWitHurlOne Grin welcome to the thread! I will, luckily his rates are reasonable Grin

Sophs29 thanks! I'm a sucker for sparkly wool, if only I'd incorporated dino's too Grin

Spamm oh, that looks nice and snuggly!

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 29/01/2021 08:59

InTheNightWeWillWish Ha, you should have see the others on my camera roll afterwards. "Lone slipper with potty" "blurry mum" "more blurry mum" "floor" Grin

Welcome @KnitWitHurlOne ! Glad you've been enjoying the thread and delighted to have you aboard on the CAL. Part 2 starting tomorrow.

givemebooks - I like your collage pic idea. We should definitely look into that! Maybe if it's not possible on MN DM, we could do it on Ravelry (if everyone is on there) and post the pic on here afterwards?

My favourite jumper is starting to look very sorry for itself; I don't suppose any of you could recommend a crochet pattern for something similar? I'll probably spend the last of my birthday money on yarn since we're not going anywhere til March

@lucysmam I've seen one on Etsy I've liked for a while, it's sort of similar but I'll insert a photo anyway just incase you like it!

There's this lucysmam if you could change the neck shape if you went... www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mellow-tunic

A bit off subject, but does anyone have any experience of trying to mend holes in jumpers?
I have a beautiful Sweaty Betty jumper - it's incredibly fine knit merino and it developed a couple of holes (I'm not even sure how) when I hadn't had it long. It's the most lovely thing to wear - super soft and very warm considering how thin it is. I don't even care how visible the mending is - I love the feel of wearing it far more than the look of it iyswim - but I don't know how to do it!

Andrea of Fruity Knitting did a tutorial for mending in one of their episodes, one for a visible method and one for invisible. I love her tutorials.

I just checked and they're 45 mins in and 1hr 10 in

lazylinguist · 29/01/2021 11:17

Thanks Flavia! I'll check those out.

lucysmam · 29/01/2021 11:37

Thanks sophs & Flavia the neck's not quite the same so I'll have a google and see how difficult it'd be to alter it so it's closer to this one. It's not really work-worthy but I've worn it today anyway 🤷‍♀️

sophs29 · 29/01/2021 15:04

Got all my little projects done for now so hopefully I'll be able to focus on the CAL this weekend Grin

Snackz · 29/01/2021 17:09

@lucysmam If you Google IronLamb crochet, her patterns are really good Smile

CrochetBug · 29/01/2021 17:45

I love love love this yarn. But it refuses to stay in a neat ball and ends up as a tangled mess. The last one took me 5 hours to untangle Hmm
This one is not allowed to be moved. At all. By anyone. In the hope it stays unknotty

CrochetBug · 29/01/2021 17:46

Picture would have helped

Meet Murray the Sea Otter

I've ended up ordering another pack of the mixed ricorumi colours that I started with at the beginning of lockdown as there seems to be no availability of the colours i need anywhere.

Oh I love Murray, tizwozliz!
sophs - your little heart is very cute too.

sophs29 · 29/01/2021 20:12

Thank you @lazylinguist
Oh my god @tizwozliz he is adorable! His little jacket melts my heart haha!

@CrochetBug that wool is stunning! What are you making with that?

lucysmam · 29/01/2021 20:20

@Snackz thank you, I'll have a google in the morning (I'm ready for an early night!)

@tizwozliz Murray's so cute! The otters are one of my favourites at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, I'd spend hours watching them play if there wasn't the rest of the animals to see!

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 29/01/2021 21:21

That's lovely sophs29 and Murray is brilliant Tiz!

Aargh, that's making me twitchy CrochetBug, that photo should come with some kind of warning Grin

lazylinguist · 29/01/2021 21:23

I'm getting a bit more of my cowl done before starting on CAL Part 2 tomorrow.

CrochetBug · 29/01/2021 21:24

Honestly. I've got 6 balls of the stuff and they all look like that. It's so annoying! I'm just making a basic shrug thing with it. As always I'm bored of it already Grin

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 29/01/2021 21:56

6 balls? Grin

I just saw this on Instagram for anyone who wanted to knit Jen Steinglass patterns, if you sign up to her newsletter there's a discount code going out tomorrow for her patterns for her KAL www.instagram.com/p/CKpD2_yHg86/?igshid=1ngirnnxfjdhr
