Loving the CAL blankets, they all look lovely! I'm still working on my temperature blanket most nights, nearly 4 months worth done, and some much warmer colours coming in. Makes me feel like its far too colourful now 🤣 (pic is folded in a basket, its much bigger!)

I don't like the spacing on the border. Some sections feel 'right' and others feel too spaced out. Im tempted to add some Vs Hmm

sophs29 · 24/02/2021 07:30

@Nervousdave the temperature blanket is beautiful! What a lovely idea!

I finally finished part 4 of the CAL last night!

sophs29 · 24/02/2021 07:31

@CrochetBug I love all the colours in your blanket? Are you keeping it for yourself afterwards or?

InTheNightWeWillWish · 24/02/2021 07:53

@givemebooks your CAL looks lovely. It’ll swamp your little niece but be a lovely present. I’m not usually a big fan of orange but I really like it in the mix with your CAL.

@CrochetBug do you think that’s because you’ve used Aran or just the pattern. In the pictures, the first round of the border looks quite gappy so this was something I was worried about too.

@Nervousdave that’s a lovely blanket. I love the colours.

Beautiful blankets, @CrochetBug and @Nervousdave!

Last night I had "issues" with my blanket session... 🙄

@sophs29 I haven't decided. I dont really need another blanket but don't have anyone to give it to at the moment.

@InTheNightWeWillWish I think it's the pattern. They just don't seem to be evenly spaced if you follow the pattern so the edges are wavy. Hmm

sophs29 · 24/02/2021 09:26

I'm sure it'll have a lovely home wherever it ends up ☺️

This is my CAL so far, I really like it actually, I think when I make one for my DS I might follow the 'spice of life' pattern instead of this 'spicier life' pattern just for a change! I love the combination of all the different stitches on these type of blankets!

Lovely blankets all round. I'm in awe of the timescales they've been completed in. It just popped up on my Facebook feed that the blanket I'm just finishing was started over a year ago.

I've just got the last lot of ends to sew in and then the border. Tried to get a photo of the whole thing but it's very windy here so this is the best I got before it wrapped itself round the washing line many times.

Love your blanket 😊

Everyone's blankets look amazing! I'm thinking mine will end up in my not yet published Etsy shop. I'm terrified about trying to sell my stuff, but I need to fund my yarn habit somehow Grin

lazylinguist · 24/02/2021 18:47

Wowwwww @tizwozliz - that blanket is beautiful!

I think I'm moulting ready for summer...I keep having to stop to untangle long grey dark brown hairs from dd2's blanket 🙄🙄

Aw SoupDragon the cat looks comfy there Grin. The purple looking colour in between the two rows of pink is pretty; what yarn is it?

InTheNightWeWillWish · 24/02/2021 22:33

tizwozliz is that the attic 24 woodland CAL? I started eyeing up other CALs to do after this one and that one caught my eye. It’s such lovely colours. Although I might not being another CAL for a little while now I’ve done this one.

crochetbug huh, I’ve worked really hard to keep my edges straight! I don’t want to suddenly make them wavy! Have you ended up sticking with the pattern or adapted it? I’m assuming you’re probably nearly done on it now...

sophs I love your colours. I wish I’d done a single colour scheme for the CAL. As I’ve been doing I’ve been thinking it would work well in a green colour scheme. Oh well, next time Grin

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 24/02/2021 22:37

Beautiful blankets! I am so impressed with the stamina and attention span required for them too. It's a lot of work!

Ha, I just noticed a load of grey hairs today lucysmam, it's been a long year! I keep meaning to ask, how's your new pet getting on?

SoupDragon · 24/02/2021 22:39

It's all Stylecraft Special and I that one is actually much more blue than purple. I'm not sure what shade it is - maybe Aster?
CrochetBug · 24/02/2021 22:40

@InTheNightWeWillWish I frogged the border, tried about 3 different variations on stitch count, then went back to following the original pattern. Its straightened up again after round 3. I guess I should have trusted the pattern makers all along and not wasted an afternoon Grin

tizwozliz · 24/02/2021 22:49

Yes, it's the attic24 woodland ripple following the random colour pattern, although I think I got the colours wrong a few times so it's unique :-)

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 24/02/2021 23:02

I am a compete idiot. I just realised that by ignoring the instruction to place a stitch marker at the sleeve pick up stitches and putting it on later instead, it's in completely the wrong place. It's 8 stitches further on from where it should be because of all the decreases. Bah!! No wonder it wasn't sitting right, I did the elbow articulation in the wrong place. I may not finish by Friday after all...

Cocopogo · 24/02/2021 23:03

I never knew this was here. I’ve found my people. I’m happy Grin

sophs29 · 25/02/2021 07:05

Awww thank you @InTheNightWeWillWish Smile oh I love the look of all the different colours!! I'm hoping after gifting this to my new nephew when he's born my niece will ask for one then I can do it all pretty colours Grin

lazylinguist · 25/02/2021 08:21

Glad you've found us, @Cocopogo - welcome!

lazylinguist · 25/02/2021 08:27

@CrochetBug - well, at least we will all know to persevere with the border now, even if it's looking wavy, thanks to you! Sorry you frogged yours though!

I'm still mulling over what to make next, even though I've got a lot more blanket to go. There's the prospect of a possible KAL on here - I really liked that shawl someone suggested earlier (was it you, @FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack?) There's the Jennifer Steingass jumper, which I'm itching to have a go at. And there's my whole book of Harry Potter knitted stuff which I got for Christmas and feel I ought to make something from. Where to begin?!

Welcome Cocopogo, grab your stuff and settle in Smile

I like to have several projects on the go at once lazy then I can skip between them if I get a bit bored. And a massive queue to pick from for new cast ons because if it's on your needles then it doesn't count as stash so I suggest you cast them all on Grin

The versa cowl was me if that's the one! I think I might modify a bit it if we pick that one and do it in DK or sport weight perhaps. I could do with it today, it's so sunny but brr!
