if it's on your needles then it doesn't count as stash so I suggest you cast them all on

Grin That would work if I were using my stash, but all the projects I want to start will require new yarn to be bought! As has been remarked on this thread already, this clearly just means that I don't have a big enough stash. Grin

Oops, inadvertently revealed my stash size BlushGrin

InTheNightWeWillWish · 25/02/2021 18:06

because if it's on your needles then it doesn't count as stash

Yeah... I tried that. All that happened is I had to make a list of which hook I was using with which project. And I also think I’ve lost one of the patterns for my WIPs. I wasn’t in love with what I was making so it’s not too big of a deal to frog it if I can’t find it. Oh, I also buy more wool because I don’t have anything in the queue, then you buy something nice and can’t wait to get started so you do, then it’s a WIP and there’s nothing in the queue again Grin So my WIP list is 7 (but that’s including a granny square project and twiddle mitts, so pick them as and when). My queue project is at least 9 (and that’s without checking in the cupboard) and then I’ve got a handful of balls just floating around with no home yet Blush I only started crocheting late November! I may have an issue.

CrochetBug · 25/02/2021 18:49

I played yarn chicken on the border and lost. BUT my lovely friend has half a ball of the yellow so her DH is dropping it down to me tomorrow (I knew she had some as she asked me what yarn I'd used for hats)

I'm doing the last 2 border rounds as far as I can so I'll just have the last 12 inches to finish tomorrow Grin

crochetbug friends in the right places!

lucysmam · 25/02/2021 20:51

Flavia Errols still as fascinating & strange as when dd first got him. He's grown quite a bit, but is still only about an inch long! I've attached a recent pic :) I've got some where you can properly see the spikes on his raptors that he uses to hold his prey, but not sure if folks might be squeamish about the fly he's chomping on.

SoupDragon I'll have a look at Stylecraft Special, thank you!

Hello Cocopogo are you a knitter, a crocheter, or a bit of both? :)

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 25/02/2021 21:56

lucysmam Wow, he's a gorgeous little thing isn't he?! Like an orchid petal at first glance.

InTheNightWeWillWish Yeah, ok, fair point Grin

Nervousdave · 25/02/2021 22:26

All the blankets are so lovely! I love seeing the CAL especially, everyone's look soooo different with the colour combinations, even though the pattern is the exact same (give or take a stitch or two!).
I cant have several things on the go, one cos it stresses me out feeling like I have a lot of half done things, and two because then DH might notice all the craft stuff I have cunningly hidden away. He knows about two cupboards worth....

petridishmystery · 26/02/2021 00:16

I have been tracking my new looms I’ve ordered from the US and look at the long break between movement! It’s been painful. Hoping they get here soon!

Loving all the CALs! Love seeing all the different colour schemes

Scoobygang7 · 26/02/2021 07:21

@lucysmam not squeamish here. Have 22 tarantulas of different ages. They get fed mealworms, roaches, and Marioworms. We also have a new ball python bought weaner rats and tried feeding last night but he wasn't interested

CrochetBug · 26/02/2021 10:37

Errol is so cute! I'm not squeamish, but would just like to ask in advance that we don't get any tarantula pics! I'm terribly phobic Blush. I can cope with most things but spider pics are a massive no no. Sorry. (Just in case).

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 26/02/2021 11:16

I realise its entirely unreasonable since snakes have to eat too, but that's enough to push me over the squeamish line!

I'm just at the cuff ribbing and then my sleeves are finished for Friday after all 🥳I'm going to do a hood on it and once I've done that I can measure for a zip and get it ordered.

lazylinguist · 26/02/2021 11:38

I'm with you on the spider phobia, @CrochetBug, although I can cope with them on a screen (just about). Errol is fascinating and definitely beautiful in a strange kibd of way, but I'm not sure I'd want him in my house Grin.

Snakes... I don't have a fear of them but, again, wouldn't want one as a pet. The dc said they'd like one, but since I know full well that I'd end up being the one looking after it, I've said absolutely not! A dog, a cat and two aquariums full of fish are plenty imo.

Scoobygang7 · 26/02/2021 13:03

@crochet promise I won't pop any tarantula photos up. It's unfair to anyone especially when not on a thread dedicated to them

Scoobygang7 · 26/02/2021 13:05

Lol @lazylinguist they're all my dp's. They live in his room mainly to keep them safe from the kids and the cats.

CrochetBug · 26/02/2021 13:10

Thanks @Scoobygang7. I didnt think you would, but panicked slightly that others would ask to see them. Hmm Despite my name I actually have a fear/dislike of most bugs/insects. Grin
Apparently as a child I would refuse to play outside if a fly dared to come in the garden and would cry from fear. Confused

InTheNightWeWillWish · 26/02/2021 13:38

I have a fear of birds if we’re discussing phobias! Although I’m fine with photos of them (which is a good thing really as I work in an environment field and improvements to habitats for birds is part of my job Grin). However, crochetbug my childhood reaction is a bit more extreme than yours. When I was a toddler I was out with my mum and grandma and eating a sandwich. As a pigeon hobbled towards us, I screamed and threw my sandwich, then climbed into my buggy and pulled the rain cover down. I wouldn’t come out until we’d left the area. Although even as an adult, I’ve been known to scream in the car when a bird has been flying towards the windscreen Hmm

CrochetBug · 26/02/2021 13:45

Glad its not just me with stupid phobias. I also hate anything with wings, although only if they actually are flying near me. Its just as well I can't drive, I'd probably crash the car if a bird flew towards it Hmm

CrochetBug · 26/02/2021 14:10

CAL border finished. I wasn't always sure about the colours, but I have to say I love the finished project!

Scoobygang7 · 26/02/2021 15:04

@inthenight I would say odd choice of work. However I used to be horribly phobic of dentures, I didn't think it through when I became a carer for the elderly 😅

Scoobygang7 · 26/02/2021 15:07

I've done an order if 24 balls of dk to make a jumper. I still haven't finished my hat yet but I will once the kids finally go back. My mental health has taken a battering and I've decided every Monday is my day to do what I want minus the basics of house/pet care.

lazylinguist · 26/02/2021 15:33

Well done @CrochetBug - looks fab! I've only got the grannies and granny blocks to do, then I'm going to measure how long the blanket is and see how much more I need to do to get it to the right size - I might need to double it Grin. Still - I've enjoyed doing it as a CAL and seeing everyone else's blankets and colours, even though I will finish alone!

OP posts:
lucysmam · 26/02/2021 15:49

That looks fab CrochetBug!

Scooby I think taking a day for yourself is a really good idea - I try and do everything in a morning usually, so afternoons are mine to do as a please (generally crafting of some sort). Dd2 would love a snake, and is quite keen on a jumping spider too, but for now she can visit my friend & her "zoo" when we're allowed to.

lazylinguist Errol is most definitely one of the strangest creatures I've ever met. He's grown on me since we got him. I never thought dd2 would be into bugs but she's fascinated by insects, snakes and lizards!

Good going Flavia! We knew you could do it 🎉🎉

Dd2 has decided that now, while it's still quite chilly, is the time to start eating ice pops Hmm so I've made her an ice pop cosy so her hand doesn't freeze Grin (it's supposed to be a mermaid tail!)

I've just realised I've put the fins in the wrong place...that'd be why it looks wrong then 🙄🤣
