Does anyone have a major objection to me cracking on with the border?

Of course not! As you can see from the pictures, I'm going to be plodding along long after everyone else has finished - it looks like I'm going to need to double the length Grin. I think I might add a fringe at the end too.

I still haven't sewn in any ends, but at least I'm only doing one colour per stitch section, so I won't have as many to weave in as the rest of you!

I can personally guarantee you that that will not be the case 😂

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 23/02/2021 11:41

That looks amazing lazy the two colour option works so well!

I finished one sleeve yesterday and started working on the second. I will have this finished by Friday and won't start anything new and now I've said it I have to do it! Wink

lazylinguist · 23/02/2021 11:41

Grin We'll see! I've got a feeling I'll slow down once other people are finishing, as I won't have the motivation of keeping up! Plus I'm itching to start a knitting project. I am really enjoying doing the blanket though, and I like how it looks on the bed. It looks better from this angle. I normally have a white or cream duvet cover on, which will set it off better I think.

Well, I've not finished part 3 yet... I'm fairly confident 😂

SoupDragon · 23/02/2021 11:43

All the blankets are looking good so far :)

CrochetBug · 23/02/2021 13:09

Awesome. I'll crack on with it later then. And yes, whoever asked I am doing the border from the pattern Grin

InTheNightWeWillWish · 23/02/2021 13:09

lazy I love the look your cat is giving your blanket. It’s like it’s trying to work out if this is an invader to their space or whether it can be their new bed Grin

lazylinguist · 23/02/2021 13:47

Grin @InTheNightWeWillWish He was asleep on the bed and I tried to spread the blanket out without disturbing him, but he opened one eye and shot out a paw to grab a yarn end.

Aarrggh, everything I'm looking at seems to be out of stock.

Considering going with this for the baby ripple blanket

www.woolwarehouse.co.uk/yarn/king-cole-cottonsoft-baby-crush-dk-aquas-2871-100g

Basically because it's in stock and requires no further colour combination decisions!

lucysmam · 23/02/2021 14:23

Blimey CrochetBug, you're on fire with the CAL! Looking forward to seeing it completed :)

lazy your cat may want a new blanket ...Grin How much bigger are you planning for yours to be?

tizwoz I have the same problem with oos yarn still 🙄 Or I could buy this from X place, and that from Y place but then it'd cost me postage & I'm a bit tight for that Blush. The King Cole whirls I bought are nice and squishy, they haven't progressed further than being admired though!

Flavia, Friday's only two days away, you can do it!

I may have spent a while last night looking at jumper patterns...& I may have added one or two to my list. & I may have given a moments thought to which yarn I might buy. Quite addictive really!

My cat or my blanket? Wink I think the cat is done growing Grin. The blanket is not done growing - it's meant to be draped over the foot of the bed and hang down a little bit on each side, so I have a way to go!

I've really enjoyed the CAL. It had a nice variety of stitches so I didn't get bored! My blanket s huge. I used aran weight instead of DK but didn't adjust the number of stitches so its rather massive Smile

lazylinguist · 23/02/2021 14:56

Why didn't I think of that, @CrochetBug?! Although actually, I don't really want it any wider, just longer!

Hi guys, just checking in! I finished part 5 and now cracking on with the border! Big thanks for the mermaid tail pattern! Think they will be my next project but unsure which pattern to do! Any further suggestions for an easy mermaid tail blanket would be fab!

This is my CAL so far i am so in love with it! Its a bit wobbled around the edges (tension and new crocher!!) hope the border will smarten it up a bit its going to have a home with my niece who turned 3 today!!!

sophs29 · 23/02/2021 17:44

Oh wow @givemebooks it looks lovely!! You should be so so so proud of yourself!!
I'm eyeing up on your blanket the part I'm on and it's given me that motivation to keep going as the end is in sight Grin so thank you! Haha!

SoupDragon · 23/02/2021 18:11

Lovely blanket!

givemebooks · 23/02/2021 20:24

Thanks @SoupDragon! Thanks @Sophs29 keep going! I was so surprised how quickly part 5 came together!! On round 2 of the border now! :)

lucysmam · 23/02/2021 20:24

Grin lazy

@givemebooks that blanket looks brilliant! Your niece is a lucky young lady.

I've pinned several mermaid tail blankets, neither of mine want one though :(

lazylinguist · 23/02/2021 21:08

It looks fantastic @givemebooks! It will look even better with the border. I couldn't believe how neat my first crochet blanket looked once I'd done the border, and mine was a lot wobblier on the edges than yours looks.

CrochetBug · 23/02/2021 21:14

That looks great @givemebooks! I went to sleep instead of starting the border Grin

NiceCardigan · 23/02/2021 21:40

The blankets are looking great!

I think I am following the world’s most difficult sock pattern it will be thrown across the room soon.

Buntyforgirls · 23/02/2021 21:49

The CAL blankets are looking GORGEOUS! Just wow!

eitak22 · 23/02/2021 22:03

The CAL blankets are looking stunning. I've started a braided cowl but having to undo it as the tension in my foundation chain is too tight forgot to do it a size bigger.

@givemebooks Borders are amazing! My scarf looked much better when bordered so sure it'll even it up.

@NiceCardigan socks are magical in mind as someone who can't knit. Hope it becomes easier... I have a few projects in the naughty corner.

CrochetBug · 23/02/2021 22:15

Heres mine. I can't get a decent picture because it's too big Grin
