Hello can I join? I mainly crochet now. I tried it a few years ago but didn’t stick with it then at the beginning of the year I went for a couple hours course and started a c2c graphgan for my son. That’s still unfinished as I then got a dune blanket kit and for Christmas I’ve got the aria blanket kit from actic24 which I’ve now started. My plan for 2021 is to get some projects finished 😂

Sounds like you have plenty to be getting on with, toomanyhobbies Grin

I've just finished weaving in my ends, and my jumper is blocking on a towel on the floor. I was about to cast on my next thing (cowl made with Christmas present wool), but - surprise surprise- I don't have the right size circular needles! Hmm

I don't know any serious crafter who doesn't have a host of UFOs. Not even my terrifyingly tidy MIL.

Yellow crewmate is finished...only ten to go

Thankfully they're quite quick, even for a beginner, & dd1 is happy to get them as and when they're done.

Lazylinguist that's very nice & wearable. That's the one thing that I was slightly concerned about; whether things I've made would be wearable or not (iyswim).

Slothkin I'm impressed; and you've given me an idea for bookworm dd2 so thank you!

I feel your pain! DS1 wants a full set including dead bodies and ghosts Grin
So far I've made a yellow crewmate and that's all.

I spoke to my nieces on Christmas day and they told me they need scarves. So scarves they shall have! Very bright ones Grin

I managed to get two crewmates made plus hats before Christmas.

Not crochet, but we also had some among us tree decorations :-)

Tizwoz yours look neater than mine. The little hats make me laugh. I don't get the game at all though 🤷‍♀️

I don't get it either, but your little guys look really good!
My circular needles are arriving today (only orderedthem last night!), so I'll be getting started on my cowl this evening.
MIL liked her socks so much that she's asked me for the pattern I used. Apparently socks are her nemesis too, but I've inspired her to get to grips with them. Smile

I think yours look neat too lucysmam - think it's just the smaller stitches on mine that make them look different.

I'm back...I'm just watching a youtube tutorial for the TS cardigan &, in the comments, the creator says they used a number 3 yarn. Do any of you know what that is in UK English?

@lucysmam Just had a google I think it could be DK but I could be wrong.

Thanks Midnight, that's what I came up with via google too, so that's what I'll go with unless I find out differently before I order it :)

I can recommend Bella Crochet on YouTube. She taught me to crochet and less annoying than some other tutorials

Started my cowl last night. It's the only project I've got at the moment, so I might make some more granny squares too. We've woken up to snow here, and we've just been put into tier 4, so staying inside by the fire and knitting seems like a good plan!

I haven't often bothered to block finished projects, but it's made quite a difference with my jumper. It fits better and the very slight pucker caused by the stranding has been transformed into lovely, even flatness!

@lazylinguist that sounds like a brilliant plan Smile Glad your blocking worked it’s wonders! Plan for today knit, read, knit , read and more knit read, knit read not necessarily in that order! However ran out of teabags so need to have a walk at some point Grin

P.s was really hoping it would snow here and was expecting to wake up to it , maybe it will tonight

We'll be doing a snowy dog walk after lunch, so I won't get to stay indoors all day! I've been making oxtail soup this morning, which we are going to have with homemade foccaccia and a mezze platter for NYE dinner. Zoom quiz with extended family at 4pm. Not sure I'll squeeze that much knitting in after all!

My plan for the day is to knit for the afternoon but may fit in a walk if forced. I’ve just ordered some yarn so I can have a try at some of the patterns in my socks from Norway book. I’ve got the hang of the basic sock so am getting brave!

We didn't wake to snow, but a hard frost. I got out for a run and sea swim so I'm on the couch bundled up with many blankets and hot water bottle trying to thaw out! Now that my fingers are warmed up I'm getting going with my sock knitting at last! So far I'm able to do ribbing without losing the pattern Grin. I don't think ive enough yarn to do two though(I decided some world make a nice thin hat with ear flaps for under my cashmere beanie) and as we went back into lockdown at midnight, it will probably be March before i can get its companion made. I might get to some of the other things on my immediate list...First up is to rip a cowl I made for myself in October. It's too long for one loop and too short for two and I made a mistake in one line of the seed stitch which annoys me every time I look at it. And i want to get started on a head band/ear warmer for a friend and a baby cardigan for another friend whose baby is due in February. I think I need more arms...

Ooh, can I join in? I've just had to frog something right back to the beginning and start over so it's great motivation seeing others making progress Smile

I've got rid of an aspect of work that was eating all my free time last year so I'm using this shawl to get back into practice and planning to make quite a few of next year's Christmas presents for people. They're the types who will appreciate it and have had handmade gifts in the past but I haven't had time to do any for a while.

It’s nice if you know people who will appreciate handmade gifts @Gliblet. My DDs loved the socks I knitted them for Christmas.

I've half written out the pattern from the youtube video, with time reminders, today. I might try it from the youtube tutorial first before I spend.

I started the blue crewmate too...Dd2 says it should have a balloon hat though & the blog post I've been using doesn't have that Confused so now I need to find one.
