I am in chaos here with the extension going on . I have moved my stash to it's new home but it is in complete turmoil!!!!
I have been trying to keep afloat in the school hols but my crafting has taken a nose dive.
I am attempt to "be prepared" does anyone fancy joining me in a weekly challenge for Xmas cards and maybe even a few pressies?

Ah thanks Dior ! I'm working on a floral number next, need a bit o' pink therapy.

Just off to pick dd up from pre-school and then I may try and muster the energy to at least cut one out - or I may work on another horse tonight ....

Got a lot of work to do before all the craft fairs etc come round, just hope they sell as I've bought tons of fabric

Tillyboo · 18/09/2007 14:59

LucyKate - your stuff is adorable, how clever are you ?

I wish I'd pursued my arty farty side when I left school having started 'A level Art' but the pull of working with animals was too great.

My best mate whom I shared many an adventure in the art room with i.e. escaping from Home Economics and Sewing would you believe, has her own very successful design agency now so who knows what I could have achieved. She still can't sew a button on

I've alway kept my paintbrush in (so to speak) but have only recently dipped into sewing etc. so I'm quite a newbie. I've got a lot to learn .....

my stuff gets laughed at here at home, this is what i have to contend with, this is what dh does.

Whizzz · 18/09/2007 16:19

LucyKate - I love the little brown cat - so very cute !! Your stuff is lovely.
I'm off to have a play with my beads now - hope to post a pic of something (anything !!?) later on

Gingermonkey · 18/09/2007 17:09

Gingermonkey · 18/09/2007 17:12

Whizzz · 18/09/2007 17:23

beaded swing earrings
Taken from a magazine I bought

Lovely Wizz, great for accessorizing with Xmas party frocks.

I'm off to count my buttons - feel guilty for not stitching something for the past couple of hours.

DD is munching on her banana sandwiches watching Wow Wow Wubzy or whatever the critters name is So.... I may be able to slink off into my workroom (tiptoes quietly out of the room)

Had family crisis yesterday evening so didn't get a chance to uplaod pics.....will do today! I promise!!!!!
Blardy families, you can't pick em, can you?

Tillyboo · 19/09/2007 08:47

Should be a good 'Making' day today ...
Cold, wet, windy, dark and miserable.

Taking dd for a stroll around a National Trust garden this morning (we call it the magical garden because there are lots of grotto's and hidey holes and a fab walled garden) AND then I can settle down and get on.

Now, where did I put our wellies ??????
Oh, better get out of my jammies first I spose

Dingle · 19/09/2007 10:42

Hope you have a good day Tilly! Is anyone else crafting today? First I am going to order my cuttlebug...a few dies...a few embossing folders....probably spend most of the day trying to decide!

This weeks goals from me:

3 thank you cards (O/S from last week)
at least 2 xmas cards
knit all the teddies arms!
AQ's dies cutting!!!!

better stop there seeing as we are need to clear out part of the kitchen and dining room this week for the wall to be knock down!! It is sooo stressful and uninspiring living in a building site but hopefully we can start painting our new bedroom this week too!! Goodness, better make a start on something NOW!

, I come out with things like that all the time (I know there's a word for it but I went to a rubbish school not a fancy one like DH so I'm lucky I can read at all!!!)

Dingle · 19/09/2007 18:49

LOL...Peckham Girl's Comprehensive-I am South Londoner deep down! Amongst my 8 O'levels was Art and Graphical Communication. I was going to go to Art College but somehow on my 17th Birthday I found myself starting work in a Bank!
Not exactly creative eh!

I always look at other people's work in awe, I am very critical of my own work and as for confidence in it...well...what's that? I don't think I am alone in the crafting world to feel like that though , am I?

OP posts:
Whizzz · 19/09/2007 19:31

I agree that there is some great stuff displayed on MN. I think you are always your own worst critic - I always think my stuff could be better. I think the thing about craft is, you are always learning new stuff & getting better.
Not sure what to set myself for this weeks target

Dingle · 19/09/2007 19:34

Whizzz, I am still unable to view your beady goodies!

Gingermonkey · 19/09/2007 19:40

My school was once in the bottom 10 worst comps in the country - Westbourne High School in Ipswich!!!! A quality education was had there! I did manage uni, but criminology is not a good choice for a fruitful career!
I agree with us all being our own worst critic, I am always thinking I'm inferior to other people and am in awe of most others! Such as cards - I have never tried because I think I'd make such a mess! And Whizzz, those beady creations are just amazing, the sead bead links - wow! (shame you can't see them Dingle!!!!)
I get so when people compliment my stuff, it makes me really really happy. I suppose we all want a bit of a stroke sometimes, don't we?!
