ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 26/07/2016 22:38

Inspired by the Woolly Hugs "Kinship Projects" colour palettes I have decided to create some on my own to share with fellow crocheters & knitters (and anyone else really!)
These are absolutely free to use & I hope you enjoy them as they are or a starting point for your own variations.

Oh and I'd love to see photos of any projects! Smile

I regret starting it in a small hook size, but I know the effort will be worth it in the end

I like the new Lapis too.

KnottyAndPistey · 04/09/2017 11:41

Just popping in!

Was thinking about a bright rainbow, then remembered you had done all the work for us Grin

Thank you!!

scalliondays · 07/09/2017 21:11

Zing this thread has been my secret guilty pleasure for the last few days... I'm getting to the end of my wool for Candy's squares and just need to deal with a few peskie ends (darning needle has been put somewhere so safe I can't find it). Having just mastered granny squares, I'm keen to try to crochet a blanket for a friend diagnosed with cancer and after further advice from 11 year old DD I'm going to try an Attic 24 cosy stripe blanket in 'Zing's 23' colours. DD has a good eye for colour and she loves the combination - so thank you!

scalliondays · 07/09/2017 21:58

Oops got that wrong - we're ordering Zing's ABC - just as well DD is nosing over my shoulder instead of being in bed!

Hello Smile

I am new to the Knitting section, but have been on MN for 8 years with multiple name-changes.

I have recently learnt to do Fair Isle, and am using this wool currently. It is lovely to work with. I am knitting rainbow colours.

I look forward to getting to know you all better Grin

ButtfaceMiscreant · 19/09/2017 06:54

@Zing

Thank you so much - for some reason I have only just got the notifications for this Confused but they are brilliant, thank you! Now to raid the back of the sofa for some pennies...Wink

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 20/09/2017 12:30

Hello all!

Glad this thread is still proving useful - at some point I will add the 6 brand new SSDK colours to my peggy box and post more colour palettes.

I have a few ideas brewing, if anyone needs help in the meantime do post here or PM.

Pistey

What is rainbow gonna be used for? I'm intrigued! Tell me tell me tell me!😂

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Zing
I always like a 'project' for Autumn and was dithering about the Attic24 Moorland blanket. However, I always thought there was too much sky for the moors and if you don't believe in a huge commitment like a blanket it becomes a chore.
I have now started the blanket in your heather highlands colourway, (adapting accordingly) and added a graphite. Just beautiful Smile
On row four!!!

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 21/09/2017 19:04

SilverHawk

Yay! I hope you show your progress!

OP posts:
SilverHawk · 22/09/2017 19:46

I haven't done enough to show the progression of colours yet but this is my conversion.
1 Cypress = Graphite
2 Lime = Cypress
3 Khaki = Meadow
4 Meadow = Sage
5 Pistachio = Raspberry
6 Mocha = Fuschia purple
7 Walnut = Boysenberry
8 Grape = Plum
etc.

Will it be okay?

IamEarthymama · 24/09/2017 06:48

I am browsing MN as I can't sleep and found this thread.

It's wonderful, I am amazed at your colour perception, Zing, going to organise my randomly bought yarn and use some of your ideas.
Currently crocheting tiny wool sloths and enjoying creating some far-from-natural looking creatures. Smile

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 26/09/2017 21:43

SilverHawk

I don't have the Moorland colours in front of me, but tbh any order of those colours will look good in my opinion.
If you are substituting Lucy's colours one by one and then stick to the colour order as per her CAL I think that will look lovely and well-blanced.
(I seem to remember she did each colour equal number of times across the project)

Whenever you ready I really want to see how it works up!

Earthy
Thank you, very kind!

Do let me know if you want help creating a palette just for you, based on the colours you have or matching them to a photo.
I like a challenge!

OP posts:
Heckityflip · 11/10/2017 21:27

@zingdramaqueenofsheba are you still up for colour challenges? I want something between sunset, seaside and mermaid to do the moorland waves blanket - I can't decide on which one and I need enough colours to substitute for the attic24 colours. I have turquoise saffron and empire I'd like to include but open to all ideas (I just have those in my stash). Thank you in anticipation! Grin

Heckityflip · 11/10/2017 21:29

@ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba oops spelling error in first post

Hamiltoes · 15/10/2017 11:39

I have some Cygnet DK charts I made if anyone else is like me and prefers them to stylecraft? I give you the mega chart "highland" Grin

Just nipping in to say a HUGE thank you Zing. You saved my bacon the other day! :)

Having briefly taken leave of my senses I decided to coordinate a joint blanket for a friend in my cancer group who has had some bad news. Then it occurred to me I would need to choose colours, not my forte at all. Anyway, after some wild panicking I remembered this thread. I’ve gone for the six colours from Aster to Wisteria from your Lavender Tea palette :) I think it might need another colour or two to balance it out, but I’ll wait to see once I have some of the completed squares in front of me!

My project list is getting longer and longer. Not helped by all your beautiful palettes inspiring yet more ideas Grin
