Hi all,
For a few weeks I've been knitting a blanket for my DP and I'd love to see what other people are knitting/crocheting at the moment!

Here's the latest picture of my blanket Smile

Finished the pokemon. And I've started on my longer term blanket project but already ready to give up as I just can't get my flowers to stop curling.

HandBag

Have you heard of /seen C2C blankets? They are chart based and you can make absolutely anything!

TooManyButtons · 10/11/2016 09:48

Can I join this thread as a wannabe crocheter? I've decided I want to make a rainbow ripple blanket, and was up until 1am watching how to crochet YouTube videos - I'm heading into town shortly to acquire wool and a hook Smile

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 11/11/2016 10:43

Buttons

Find Lucy's ripple stitch tutorial at Attic24 (Pinterest or Google). If you are stuck PM me and I can help you.
Good luck!

HandbagCrazy · 11/11/2016 11:04

How is it going buttons? I agree with pp - attic 24 tutorials helped me make my ripple blanket, but be prepared for lots of practise first Smile

TooManyButtons · 11/11/2016 12:58

Look! I can crochet! I have a ripple!

For HandbagCrazy - there's a website you can go to to make charts for knitting. You give it a picture and it charts it for you. It's all free and I used it to make a superhero blanket a while ago.

Wow, look at you! Woohoo! Looks great.
Now say good bye to family, friends , job etc as this is your life now 😂😂

NerrSnerr · 13/11/2016 17:01

Finished my daughter's Christmas jumper. I have now started knitting her the characters from Cinderella. I also plan Noah's Ark and some food for her play kitchen (I am off sick from work so have a lot of time on my hands).

Wolver Thank you!! Star I'm browsing around the site now. I was honestly losing my marbles trying to figure this out - all I want is HULK SMASH written and a picture of a hulk fist.

Buttons Well done! How are you finding it?

wolver1ne · 13/11/2016 18:59

HandbagCrazy - I used it to make smaller squares to complete a big blanket, each with a superhero motif on. I haven't tried it with a large picture but I guess if you did it on largest setting you could scale it up. Alternatively you could chop your original pic into sections if you see what I mean.

Also, I don't know how to do the bold username thing, sorry.

FinnegansCake · 16/11/2016 16:01

NerrSnerr those jumpers are lovely, I've never had the courage or patience to attempt a complicated motif.

FinnegansCake wow that is stunning! How long did that take you to make?

FinnegansCake · 16/11/2016 21:10

Buttons it felt as though it took forever, as I did it on and off for over a year! There were literally hundreds of ends to sew in too - it'll be a long time before I start another one Wink

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 21/11/2016 10:31

Finnegan
That looks beautiful!
Did you just make it up or was it a CAL?

FinnegansCake · 21/11/2016 19:00

Zing thank you, I got the idea from Little Woollie. She did a CAL on her blog, I followed bits of it but not all.

Little Woollie's blanket is stunning, I would have loved to do one in the colours she chose. Mine started off as a stashbuster. This didn't work at all, as I kept running out of colours and having to buy more. I've ended up with nearly as much as I started with Grin

RubyGoat · 24/11/2016 18:32

Where do you all get your yarn from? I knit because I enjoy it, but also because it means I can afford to make things I could never afford to buy. I want some nice natural 4 ply yarn. Must be machine washable, preferably in a mix of cashmere / merino / silk, possibly some cotton or bamboo. Soft colours - grey, pink, blue or cream. I'm in the UK.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 25/11/2016 01:33

Lego

I mainly buy from Wool Warehouse, there's almost always a code for 10% discount and they send the wool in lovely bags. Plus free p&p for orders over £25.
Sometimes I buy from Ebay or LoveKnitting.

bruffin · 25/11/2016 09:26

I biught my last lot of wool from hobbeycraft. It was 3 for 2. The james c brett marble chunky.worked out good value. Ive made 7 hats so far

RubyGoat · 25/11/2016 20:08

Zing - thanks for the recommendation for Wool Warehouse, looks promising. I suspect my next project will cost me at least £25... I don't mind cheaper wool for DD's jumpers, as she goes through clothes so fast at her age, & for blankets etc, but for me I'd rather have something a bit nicer. I have clothes older than some of my colleagues so I want them to be nice!

Disraeli · 30/11/2016 16:31

These all look amazing! I've got an introductory crochet class booked next weekend and I can't wait! I tried using online tutorials, but I think I need a human to help start me off. My plans are cushion covers, big granny square blankets for my children, and a giant Christmas blanket for us all to snuggle under next Christmas.

Hopefully I'll be showing you my projects soon.
