Hi all,
For a few weeks I've been knitting a blanket for my DP and I'd love to see what other people are knitting/crocheting at the moment!

Here's the latest picture of my blanket Smile

3rd combo is "Rich", definitely!
Lipstick, Spice, Sunshine, Grass Green, Turquoise, Royal, Emperor, Fuchsia Purple, Walnut.

I think this is my favourite. The Emperor is a beautiful deep purple, and Fuchsia is gorgeous shade too, they look way better in life than on photo!

I'm a little over 4000 miles from my Stylecraft stash and on Hamster powered wifi but I see Zing has offered :) I knew it wouldn't be a problem!

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 01/08/2016 23:56

Soupy

Just keep feeding the hamster! Grin
I'm sure you have at least one project of some kind with you, don't you?
That's the first thing I pack.

Marcipex · 02/08/2016 01:26

Ive finished one teddy and started another, for the Woolly Hugs Christmas project.

Oh Marci he is adorable! What a cheerful fella!

SoupDragon · 02/08/2016 02:15

Of course I have a project :)

Lovely bear, Marci.

That reminds me that I think I have a few unstuffed bears that my grandmother made years ago for a charity project and which were never sent. I must dig them out and finish them!

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 02/08/2016 16:25

Bloody hell that's gorgeous

Cary2012 · 02/08/2016 17:17

Just to say that I lurk on this thread to look at your amazing pics, and think you are all incredibly talented! I knit a lot, but am not in the same league as you lot! I have tried to crochet so many times, but just can't get to grips with it, so it is interesting that some of you find crochet easy, and knitting harder.

Marcipex · 02/08/2016 20:19

Moose, that is superb.

brodchengretchen · 02/08/2016 20:38

OP, haven't RFT, but just wanted to say confident use of colour and no row outs, definitely has my vote. Well done.

Sooverthis · 02/08/2016 21:02

Today's progress got to block and pick a border. I wouldn't do it this way again

Sooverthis, that's very pretty, it would take me forever.
I've made another teddy to go to Belarus.

I might put a crocheted flower on her head, as dh referred to her as 'he' just now.
What do people think? Yellow flower?

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 03/08/2016 01:38

Marci

If must I'd choose the blue (turquoise?) colour you've used already.
But I think She is very pretty already without it
Silly MrMarci!

I like your teddies Marci. I have almost finished one as well - just have the snout and one ear to crochet, then the dreaded sewing up. (Which I will probably put off until the posting deadline!) Yours looks fairly similar to the pattern I am using - Red Heart's Sweet Dreams Teddy. Is it?

Marcipex · 03/08/2016 10:06

Purplefrog, its similar isn't it, I looked at that pattern and used the same basic construction method, but I thought the head shape wouldnt work without a hat, and I didn't want to do hats.

I've made the arms and ears in the round.
And improvised a face.

This is the flat pieces.

soover I made that blanket earlier this year. It looked lovely when it was finished but I hate sewing up and it was so faffy. I also decided to line it with cotton fabric as I didn't like being able to see the wrong side. It took forever but my friend loved the blanket.

PurpleFrog · 03/08/2016 10:30

Well, I'll see what my head is like without a hat, once it is stuffed! If I like it once it is finished, I might adapt it so that it is all done in the round to avoid so much sewing-up!

Marcipex · 03/08/2016 10:48

I hope to see a pic Purplefrog

I've got a lot of bright pink to use up after a trip to the wool shop with DGD, age 3. I'm hoping the Russian children will share the same (lack of) taste Smile

PurpleFrog · 03/08/2016 11:01

I'll definitely post a picture once it is finished. I have a lot of 4 ply on cones, so wanted a pattern to use up some of that. I have an unfinished blue doll's jumper that turned out too small for the doll it was meant for. I will see if it will fit the teddy once it is finished, and if it does, do another one to wear the jumper!

SpaceDinosaur · 03/08/2016 12:31

Zing your first combination, bright is utterly divine!!!

Are you sure you want another project?!

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 03/08/2016 18:53

Space

Here's a test hat, that's about the right proportions I think - or do you want the bit where the tail attaches to the hat to be a bit narrower?

This one has a 15" circumference, but stretches to 16" comfortably. I managed to put it on my 2 year old's head but it's too tight really on him. Would be way to big for a little baby.
(I'll undo tail later and stick it in next WH Refugee stash so not wasted effort.)

But I don't want it to make it too small either, so although most charts suggest 12" circumference for newborn I wonder if I should make it just a tad larger, between 13 " -14" so you'll get more use of it.
What do you think?
why don't I have a newborn when I need one for hat modelling? Grin

Sent you a PM also.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 03/08/2016 18:54

Posting photo is always useful.....Grin
