Hi colourers! Ive just started colouring and getting hooked pretty quickly! I cant draw at all but love being able to be creative with pencils. This was my 4th attempt at a bit of shading. This was with a pack of 12 bic pencils but Im hoping to get some more pencils soon, I really want the wow of a lovely tin with lots of colours...

Not sure it was actually worth waiting for, but through the power of my work PC rather than my rubbish phone, here it is!

Meerka. I am sure your octopus will be great, I look forward to seeing a picture once you have completed it.
Slev. Your tree is amazing, well worth the wait to see the picture.

Meerka · 06/10/2015 21:56

Slev, that's lovely!

BlueEyeshadow · 06/10/2015 22:14

Oh, Mad - I missed yours - that's really pretty :)

madcattersteaparty · 07/10/2015 16:32

thank you! I wasn't sure what I was doing with shading but I looked at some others on Pinterest and tried to get an idea from that! Loving the flowers, the octopus and the tree :-)

slev · 07/10/2015 19:12

Loving the picture sharing and feeling very inferior because I've just copied colours from pinterest - some of you have a great eye for what works! I can do the colouring part but I need a colour guide to follow.

Finally finishing one picture has inspired me to spend more time colouring though, so I'm making faster progress with my next one. Somehow when I have one hanging over me, I start to lose enthusiasm for finishing it.

Meerka · 08/10/2015 08:24

still working on the octopus .... maybe ill post him when he's done .... (blush)

Amazing photos!

My ex Bill is an artist who has an adult colouring book on Amazon, he goes by the moniker "Squidoodle". Hope that isn't a too shameless plug but his book /fb etc may be of interest to some of you lot. Living this thread and feeling inspired to buy some pens!

SilentService · 09/10/2015 09:33

Gah.... Ex Bil not my ex called Bill! And loving not living!

So glad to have spotted this thread - my efforts are rather amateurish but love it!

Matilda2013 · 11/10/2015 10:21

Stil to finish this picture for dsd. Have a week off so hopefully I'll have some free time at some point!

Hello all, new to this thread, and fairly new to colouring. I bought a 24 set of staedtler pencils, and am finding the quality fine, but would love more colours. Are there any larger sets that aren't the super posh expensive ones (that I'm hoping father Christmas will bring!)

KinkyDorito · 14/10/2015 17:42

Began today. "Enchanted Forest". Think I'm going to NEED (obviously it is a need) more colours though. 24 won't cut it.

KinkyDorito · 14/10/2015 20:23

Some lovely pictures - I've been having a look through the other thread too. Hopefully I will have something worth contributing at some point. Smile

KinkyDorito · 15/10/2015 09:21

First attempt.

Can I come in? I'm another Enchanted Forest-er. I don't have any fancy pencils though, just a 36 pack of Faber-Castell, 12 pack of crayola, plus whatever I've raided from DD(4).

I finished the trees last week and the other one this morning.

I've also got The Magical City, which is nice but so detailed I think it's better suited to pens, or at least very, very sharp pencils.
