Am going to order the Animal Magic book from Amazon. It looks like it would be nicer to do with markers for brighter colours. These are recommended in the Amazon reviews. Are they worth it?

Thanks!

Just showing you how vibrant my pencil colour is! The pic and my colouring skills don't do the pencils justice

Morrisons have a lovely colouring book, with an owl on the first page, my Dd wouldn't hand it over for closer inspection!
Dds have ASD and they love colouring, have brought loads off amazon, they do some lovely stained glass window ones printed on thick tracing paper, when they came they were tiny and really not very good.

Sallystyle · 07/06/2015 22:37

I need to rub out where I have gone over the lines or put my glasses on!

MrsMcGregor · 07/06/2015 22:41

Those are lovely U2! I love the colours you have used and think you have been layering (is that the correct term?) colours? Is the red leaf from your new, lovely colours?

I managed to find an hour for myself today to do some. Have started the round design with butterflies and flowers. It's going to take days to finish Shock but I'm guessing that's half the point of it! The pencils are almost too wide for some of the narrower lines. I'll try to post a photo tomorrow but, be warned, mine is really rubbish .... art was never my strong point!

Waggle, I've ordered the fineliners and they have been despatched but haven't arrived yet. I think I'll try them towards the back of the book but love the look of the available colours.

MrsMcGregor I started the butterflies and flowers one today too!

Sallystyle · 08/06/2015 07:56

Yes, the red leaf is my new pens.

I have been trying to layer the colours yes.

My children just don't get me. They keep asking me why I have blue leaves!

I have always been useless at art, always. I can't even draw stick people and I am really cack handed and my hand writing is worse than my 6 years old. I have problems cutting my food and using scissors as well.

Colouring is the only thing I can do which isn't completely awful, but I am still pretty bad at it Grin

Amazon! Where are you? Angry

DS naps in 15 minutes. If it's not here I'll have to do housework.

MrsMcGregor · 08/06/2015 14:10

Fingers crossed for you Lemon.

Lady - what a coincidence! How is yours coming along? Honestly, I need a magnifying glass as well as my glasses.

Here's a photo of my efforts this far - the camera doesn't lie! I can see spaces and haven't stayed tight enough to the lines although I blame my failing eyesight for that Grin!

Train I used to dread my kids asking me to draw them things. They soon stopped asking!

I think I will put the 120 colours on my birthday list! can't think of one person who will spend that much on me though Grin They are so lovely and 24 just isn't enough for a spoilt child Grin I need to win the lottery or something.

Your colouring is lovely OP. Love the colours.

Enormouse · 08/06/2015 15:20

I love this thread. I have millie marottas animal kingdom and some lovely staedtler pencils waiting for me once the toddlers have gone to sleep.

MrsMcGregor · 08/06/2015 15:50

My husband said he will buy me the set of 120 for my birthday!

Only 13 days to go Grin

He says it keeps me quiet so he is more than happy to buy them for me Hmm

I wish I could use my fine liners at times. The girls used them in their thicker colouring book and they bled through a little but not too much. I tried them again in my animal kingdom book at the back in the corner using a lighter touch and they still bled through badly :(

Traveling that is lovely. What book is that because it looks really fun.

TheTravellingLemon · 08/06/2015 16:17

It's called doodle invasion and was recommended upthread. It looks good, but the pictures might be a bit samey. Lots of those little ghost type things. Oh well, I suppose I'll have to invest in a second one to mix things up a bit! Wink

00100001 · 08/06/2015 16:25

aaaahhhh this is AMAZING!

Totally gonna get that Doodle Invasion book for my Colouring Club next year!!

Sallystyle · 08/06/2015 16:34

Did you do the shading in the book? or did it come like that?

If you did, then you need to give me tips please.

TheTravellingLemon · 08/06/2015 16:38

I did the shading Smile. I don't have tips, I just press harder in some bits Grin. I put in all the dark bits first and then fill in the rest lightly. Not very technical I'm afraid!

Shannaratiger · 08/06/2015 16:39

I brought ds the 1000 dot to dot. They're really good - yes I've done lots of them, a ruler helps though. Am thinking about colouring them in next

Sallystyle · 08/06/2015 16:41

I bet you are good at all types of art, right Travelling

I need to tell myself that so I don't get down at my attempt of shading Grin
